Spread Eagle At Mellor - Blackburn
Absolutely disgusted with the place, have got out only for the second time in two years due to a pain condition, to celebrate our 7 yes 7 year olds birthday, was given menus by a waitress and was told to hurry to order the early bird, as it was a nice evening we sat out side and needed to order within 10 minutes to catch it. After bouncing down the pavement to the rear beer garden, that stevie wonder must have laid, I was in agony as I take 51 pain killers a day!, we choose fast and went to order. To be told "by the owner" Stuart, that the early bird can't be served outside, they'd given out in door reservation away so called a stalemate as won't let the order go through, Stuart didn't take the time to come and deal with the problem. So my girlfriend came out disgusted and asked if I wanted to be pushed Bk down stevies path to eat in side on a table for two , baring in mind I'm in a wheelchair straight legged, and there's 3 of us?????, so my girlfriend went Bk in just to our daughters as I refused to eat and was in far to much pain, she was then confronted by Stuart's mummy who said she was the owner and didn't like the way here son had been spoken too!, aww poor Stuart, then I wrote a letter of complaint and struggled on my crutches to get in to give it them, I was confronted by Stuart who said he was the owner, so I gave him the letter to read and asked if the waitress who started the who joke would be told of her mistake, his answer was no because that's my wife. Haha what a joke of a "family" run restaurant, prizing itself on great service, my 7 year old daughter had to eat her birthday tea alone while listening to unbelievable fruitful language of the punters!, but that was acceptable as they were regulars but helping a family of of a disabled man trying to take his daughter to a meal for her birthday was far to much, what a disgraceful place. We have dined out almost every weekend for the last 20 years, so I would say I am knowledgable on what makes a good restaurant. The Spread Eagle was exceptional for service. D Forshaw
