Had a great evening at Trattoria51 last Saturday evening. The new menu has something for everyone from homemade pizza and pasta dishes to British classics and daily fresh fish and meat specials. The Calamari starter and Home made Cheeseburger with fries and salad I had were extremely tasty and incredible value for money.
The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere with diners all enjoying their evening and praise was unanimous for the menu, the quality of the food and its presentation from the friendly and attentive staff. It was a pleasure to be able to sit outside on the large terrace before our meal and after in the bar.

We went to 51 the prom last night (07/2008) and I can honestly say it was the worst restaurant in Southport. The staff were rude and miserable. The head Waiter was more interested in pouring drinks when we arrived than showing us where to sit before our meal. There was no atmosphere, no music, just the back ground noise of the kitchen and people around us. The price was extortionate. A bowl of lettuce and a plate of mixed fish was £28.It was just thrown in front of us with no `hope you enjoy your meal`.All the staff gave the impression they were to good to work there. Many other things to complain about, overall just an awful , awful experience, we will never go or recommend 51 the prom to anyone, the sooner unprofessional restaurants like this go out of business the better!
