This was our third visit and the owners were unavailable due to illness , however the staff were excellent.
Once again we all went for the fillet steak which was superb as well as being very generous in size.
Sadly no Smelly Apeth ( blue cheese from ex Corrie star Sean Wilson ) ) on the Cheese board due to delivery problems but there's always a next time.
A must visit food experience.

Three of us had a brilliant meal there last night of fillet steak, 2 of us asked for medium and one medium rare and they were cooked to perfection as were the chips and vegetables. The two men shared the cheeseboard. From a comprehensive menu they chose Smelly Aporth, a local blue cheese, Wensleydale and Apricot and (I think) Mrs Kirkham's Lancashire. There was also a very good selection of sweets. The coffee was also just how we like it. We would certainly go again.

My wife and I have been to Amier twice now and have had a great meal on both occasions. The last time we went we also went with my brother and sister-in-law and spent the evening there with drinks before and after in the separate lounge area. The food was excellent, the service very good and the environment was just right. Great to have somewhere nice in St Helens that you can get a bit dressed up for but doesn't break the bank. It is a little more expensive than a pub or pub with restaurant but it is worth it and just that bit more special for a special occasion.

Food was excellent.. The cost was £70 for 2 courses and a shared pudding with two rounds of drink (lager and wine).
A place that you need to get dressed up for!.

We eat out very regularly and can honestly say that Amier serve the best food in the area. The staff are superb, friendly and efficient and Anne-Marie & Eric (owners) do everything they can to ensure an pleasant and comfortable dining experience. Sunday lunch at £10.95 for 2 courses is very good value and the menu changes weekly. The food is certainly well worth travelling for! The transformation from Wheatsheaf to Amier Restaurant has been amazing and I wish them every success in their new venture.

Heard a rumor that my favourite dining venue was to close and the management to open a new venue called the Amier Restaurant. Thought we are going to have to check it out for ourselves. My wife and I rang up the establishment just before Christmas and asked for a table of 2, a young girl answered the phone and was able to tell me some of the dishes on the menu. I subsequently booked a table for later that week. When we arrived, I was amazed at the transformation from public house to restaurant! We were asked to take a seat in the lounge where a charming man took our drinks order and offered us menus, soon after one of the waitresses took our order and showed us to our table.
The restaurant was I'd say 3/4 full which I was surprised being a new restaurant. The food arrived and my wife and I loved some of the unusual flavors and textures within the food. At the end of the meal, we asked one of the waitresses for the bill, this was brought over by the manager who asked us whether we would like a complimentary drink from the bar, we obliged and ended up chatting to her for a while, discussing the amazing transformation of the restaurant!
We have since been back twice since the turn of the year and we both agree that the Amier Restaurant and Wine Bar is one of the new up and coming places to eat and drink in the North-West!!
