Sportsmans Inn - Halifax
Myself and a few friends who eat out quite often called into the sportsman's last Saturday night. The place was "packed" to say the least. Luckily we had booked a table as the whole pubs really busy and the atmosphere was electric. I had a tart of goats cheese and red onion chutney which came served on a magnificently presented, followed by Seabass in lemon and caper butter which i chose from the fish specials board, the fish was lovely and succulent. My friends all had 10 0z sirloin steaks which were cooked to perfection. Value for money and great looking food. definitely coming again. Love Pubs
Had one of the most enjoyable lunches out today as my wife and I visited the Sportsmans Inn.We travelled over from Bramley on a beautiful Springlike day. First time visitors we plumped for a Retro lunch and dessert.I had half a pint of Taylors Landlord which was excellent .I chose the Fishermans Pie which came with Roast Potatoes and a selection of spring Veg.The dish was fantastic with succulent pieces of fish in a creamy sauce topped with mash and a cheesy top.My wife had the Beer Braised Beef which also was delicious.Finding space for a dessert I opted for the Sticky Toffee Pudding served with vanilla Ice Cream. My wife had the Banoffee Crumble with Creme Anglaise. Both were fantastic. We immediately booked for Mothers Day. Can't wait to go back .Highly recommended! Steve Palmer
