We started with shammi kebabs & they were fine. Well, that was the high point of the meal! The lamb biryani arrived, a sad, tired dish, lukewarm and obviously reheated, but at least it had been cooked! Then the koftas arrived and were found to still be red-raw inside. Bluntly the food was dire. Perhaps it was a good restaurant in the past but not anymore

Have been to Maliks this evening with 3 friends in Leeds and I can honestly say this is the worst service I have ever experienced in my life from a restaurant! The tables were dirty (my sleeve stuck to it), we waited 15 mins for drinks order to be taken and half hour for our order to be taken for food. An hour later we were still awaiting our starter which eventually did arrive. A further half hour passed before our main courses arried - hang on though these weren't actually ours they had brought the wrong order! So, the waiter, putting his hands all over the naan bread he had just put on the table, took them away. 15 mins later the main order arrives - hang on, one of the curries is the wrong one! Minutes later the waiter returned with another dish (looking remarkably like the one he had just taen away). Whilst this should have been a lamb dish it was actually chicken. When we asked the waiter he said sorry they had run out of lamb as it was so busy (there were another 4 people in there!!!) In the end we walked out, the servive was appalling it really was. Will NEVER return! Rant over!

Went with a group of friends and whilst the food itself was very good, the service and presentation was lacking. The main problem service wise was that you didn't get a dedicated person managing your table and consequently none of the 4 people who attended our table knew what the others had done. We ordered popadoms and pickles and the choice of 3 pickles was good but there was one teaspoon to serve the three pickles with and the pickle bowls looked liked they had been used and not replenished from a previous diner. The popadoms were stale as if they had been made earlier and left. However the starters and main meal were really tasty and well worth the wait. If you want somewhere when you are not in a rush and want to dine in a leisurely manner this is the place to be as service was slow - when we asked for the bill it took them 25 minutes to produce it. Reasonably priced, good food and clean surroundings but just misses the finishing touches to make it a memorable place. Don't regret going there but it wouldn't immediately spring to my mind to go there again. Shame!

Judging by previous comments below, this place has either just changed hands or we hit it on an off day. The food was appalling and the service was extremely slow (and there were only six people in the place). Very disappointed and definitely will not be returning.

terrible food, worst curry i have ever had, i don't even know that it was chicken that i was eating, very suspicious meat in the curry which tasted awful anyway.
