Located in the centre of Headingley, Dare is all about offering simple, freshly homemade, honest food at very reasonable prices. Since opening in 1993 it has developed a loyal following and is now a fixture of the Headingley student and local dining scene. Open all day from 9am for breakfasts, including healthy options and really good coffee, through lunchtimes where gourmet sandwiches, paninis, wraps and soups attract the crowds. The main menu is offered from 11am-10pm and features generous portions of Mexican dishes such as Fajitas, Chimichangas, Enchilladas and the pizzas here are also large and cooked to order. The long dining room features exposed brick walls with a mix of artwork, wood and leather furniture and is atmospheric when candlelit in the evenings. A basement bar is open every night from 6pm offering a large selection of cocktails, shooters and draught and bottled beers with many on promotion. The operation is well run and the staff are trained in all aspects of customer service. There is a firm environmental policy in place to reduce their carbon footprint and they try to reduce food miles where possible.

I had my hen do here and the staff were so accommodating and attentive throughout the night. We loved it. I am a regular here and always come away feeling extremely satisfied. Absolutely love the 4 course option, go for it everytime. My friends from Liverpool always ask to go here when they are in Leeds as they love it so much. Highly recommend it.. Alex This is an amazing place, the food is really good value and tastes great, there is so much choice too. The staff go out of there way to do anything for you and nothing is too much trouble for them. They have an upstairs aswell and cater for large bookings and you can also hire the bar down stairs. Jules 15/08/07 Since the fall of Adam and Eve, Earth has been waiting for a change to redeem itself and prove to God that this world is worthy of something good. Come the millennium and low and behold, our saving grace has been bestowed upon us in the form of a restaurant. The brie and roasted pepper salad is divine (add cashew nuts and bacon to it too!) and people never stop raving about the nachos. Whether you live in the United States or Kathmandu, you have a duty to the Earth itself to relish in this delight. I can only compare the experience at Dare to a heavenly banquet. antpanty
