"nobody does fish and chips like Harry Ramsdens" - err yeah you are are right, theres at least 6 chip shops within a mile of Harry Ramsdens that are cheaper, better quality and much much tastier.

I love this place. Nowhere does fish and chips quite like Harry Ramsdens, and no Harry Ramsdens does them as well as this one. My husband had the chicken and found it to be a little dry, but nevertheless tasty, and the desserts are great comfort food. Always worth a visit.
Harry Ramsdens
We have just visited Harry Ramsdens (restaurant) for a family lunch. The restaurant wasn't overly busy, however we were asked to wait 10 mins before being seated. We didn't wait very long for the starters, however once the plates had been cleared we waited over 20 mins for the main course to be served. The food was good, however the peas were luke warm, the steak had been cooked and then left before being served (lukewarm) and two of our party had to wait even longer for their sausage and fish to be served. After the meal we were asked if we would like desert, after waiting a further 10 mins for a menu, we gave up. Unfortunately, good food was sorely let down by the standard and speed (or lack of) service. Safe to say we will not be returning any time soon.

food was as good as always - lovely - service not brilliant - only 2 staff seen people left at door for a few minutes before being seated , even though the place was quiet- extra bread requested when meal served - arrived as we were finishing food.......regretably the ambience was not of the standard of a few years ago - it was nice but no longer special
