Saturday night and our planned bistro in Skipton was full. They recommended The Rafters. An excellent recommendation. We chose smoked haddock and pea risotto for starters, chicken pie and spring lamb for the main course, and panna cotta and hot chocolate sundae for desert. Each dish was delicately prepared and cooked, while being attractively presented. The service was attentive, with a touch of humour and the chef came and talked to us as the end. A very reasonable price and we will definitely come again.
Carer
New owners of this well-known licensed Skipton restaurant, with its low-beamed, traditional decor and excellent food/service, have opened up an outside roof patio with a beautiful view of the nearby castle walls and spur canal. Friendly, caring service and home-made food - eat indoors or out. Located in the wonderful old cornmill at the top of the town's main street, with its collection of past tools and even a mill water-wheel to admire. Now open Sundays and most weekdays. Definitely worth a visit and a short stair climb!
