On our way from work last night and contemplating an Indian takeaway, we walked past Tabac on Bold St. I think they've just had a paint job because the place looked great - warm and welcoming. We decided to stop off for a drink before heading up to Hope Street. The atmosphere was excellent, the place was buzzing and the music was great. We ordered our wine and had a look at the menu. It sounded so good we decided to order and had salmon, crayfish and white wine risotto and roast chicken with chorizo, tomato and black olives. It arrived looking good and tasted even better. We got into a conversation with one of the friendly staff who recommended we have dessert. We went for apple and cinnamon museli crumble and vanilla bread and butter pudding and again they were brilliant. Presentation was good and they were just what we wanted on a cold November night. All that and a bottle of great rioja for under £40! We'll be going back next week.

I often call into the Tabac for one of their very reasonably priced mediterranean lunch dishes. It has a relaxing cosy atmosphere where you can comfortably dine alone or with a group of friends. The service is quick and the food delicious!
