Went here with my husband on a Saturday night. We were staying in Manchester for the weekend and just happened to come across this restaurant set in the old railway arches on Whitworth Street. We called in and booked a table for that evening knowing that it would probably be very busy in the run up to Christmas.
The decor is nice with a replica of the Sistine Chapel across parts of the arched ceiling. The restaurant is huge with plenty of room so that you are not crammed in. The kitchen is open so you can see your meal being prepared.
Service was excellent, food was just AMAZING and prices very reasonable. We had a bottle of imported lager each, a bottle of house red (Merlot) with our meal. We both had the Funghi All`Aglio - mushrooms sautéed in garlic, white wine, rosemary and hint of chilli for our starter. Then I had Tortellini Cremolati - pasta parcels filled with beef in a ham, pea and cream sauce. My husband had Trofiette Alla Genovese - ligurian pasta served in a grilled chicken, pesto cream and white wine sauce. We had a garlic bread with tomato with our main course.
The portions are just about right too - not too much, not too little - so we had room for a desert. I had Profiteroles (which were awesome and not at all like the profiteroles you usually get) and my husband had Tiramisu.
The total bill came to £58 for both of us which was great value bearing in mind we had 3 courses, with wine. Service was great even though they had a couple of large parties in there for birthdays and Christmas.
Highly recommend this restaurant and we hope to go back again on our next trip to Manchester!
Cocotoo Restaurant
A very warm and friendly service in pleasant surroundings.

Unfortunately, they brought all of our food at once--it didn't even fit on the table without removing the bread basket! We were the only ones in the restaurant (it was early) and we wondered why they were rushing us. Would go back, but I'll be sure and tell them I'd like to eat my salad first, etc.
Cocotoo Restaurant
this has arguably got to be the finest italian there is.
Cocotoo Restaurant
Been here a few times - can be very busy so the relaxed attitude to service can be a problem if you haven't got a lot of time. If you have, it's great, the staff are great people, the food is good to very good. For the lively Italian experience, go here!
Cocotoo Restaurant
Enjoyed my meal of pasta with clams in the unique surroundings of Cocotoo. The service was spot on, I wonder if I sat in the same seat as Pavarotti?
