Had dinner here last month and it never fails to impress. The presentation is awesome and the wine list an oenologist's wet dream. Nuff Said!

Bells Diner – Bristol City CentreI have been to this restaurant for years. It is consistently good, you know you are going to get a good meal. Some people seem to think the unchanged menu is a bad thing - I don't! There is enough variety on there for everyone and if you've got a firm favourite, you know it will still be there next time you go. I've always found the staff fine - yes, you have to leave messages to get a table but they've always got back to me.
La Bonne Vie – TauntonCharming, good food but now mainly caters for large house parties, where guests take over the whole hotel.
Bindon Country House Hotel – TauntonOne of the very best meals we've had for a long time & in such a beautiful place with wonderful friendly service. Can't wait to return. I would recommend to anyone.
Waldegrave Arms The – BlagdonWOW, got a takeaway from there this evening, butter chicken tikka with pilau rice and a keema naan, it was so tasty and filling o and i got free popadoms! staff were friendly always smiling and their restaurant looked so nice gonna have to eat in there soon! 10 out of 10 so far!
The Curry House – Bristol City CentreMy Wife booked us a table as my birthday treat, from a recommendation from a friend, a table with 'Moat views' and we got what we asked for. We chose a Saturday evening, which was busy but not 'too' busy. Both of us had Starter, Main course and Desert with Coffee, all very good value and were well cooked. There were a couple of large parties seated, one in the main entrance area, the other in the centre of the restaurant, there was some noise but who wants a silent room where you can hear the clicking of everybodies knives and forks? I can't fault the meal to be honest, the food was good, the service was prompt and polite and the setting is very good also, Wells Market Place next to the Town Hall, backing onto the Bishops Palace and Moat. Will definitely go again!
ASK – WellsWe went to Obento on Saturday for lunch and ordered the mixed Bento box at £11.00 each, I was disappointed to find that the Tempura was breadcrumbed mixed seafood, even a battered Crab stick! One compartment was just 3 slices of orange another an incredibly unauthentic potatoe salad with dry hard rice and 3 pickle slices, incredibly unauthentic and not at all value for money, looked like it came from Iceland, really disappointing for a first visit, would not recommend
Obento – Bristol City Centreoverpriced muck served to idiot Somerset fools who have never tasted a true curry and consequently think this 'modernist' place is quality. not true. you pay thru the nose and you get slop. fair enough it's the one one around here, but still, MUST TRY BETTER TO PRODUCE DECENT FOOD !!!
Alcombe Tandoori – MineheadRecently stayed in Dunster with my husband and reserved a table at Cobblestones, as recommended by our landlady. On arrival received a very warm welcome - bar had plenty of choice and good beer as sampled by hubby!! The menu had a good selection of dishes, reasonably priced and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Portion sizes were excellent too. They have a great selection of desserts - the one I tried was superb (chocolate praline mousse - just fabulous!)and presentation was wonderful too. The service and waitressing was excellent too - nothing too much trouble and very friendly. We will certainly book at this restaurant again, when we next return to Dunster. Definitely recommended!!
Cobblestones – Mineheadgreat atmosphere and attentive staff the food was first class, excellent, cooked to perfection! definitely worth a visit we will be returning again.
Demetris Taverna – Weston Super MareThank you very much for a truly delicious meal, excellent service and a lovely evening, we'd like to wish you continued success! Best Regards, Julia, Tracey and David
Eastern Eye – Bathnow the hangman is gone maybe this pub may fulfil its potential and become and family pub,
George and Dragon The – BlagdonThis place is a hidden Gem!!! I enjoyed my first meal here with my sister's Boyfriends' family who have been coming here for years! We were all welcomed with open arms by George and his family. We sat down and our drink orders were taken straight away, and brought over just as quickly! Once we'd all decided what to have to eat, George came over and took our orders. The starters were AMAZING!!! It was hard to stop yourself filling up on the starters alone, they were so delicious! Our main meals were out of this world. I had traditional doner kebab with Greek rice (I thought it'd be the safest option since I wasn't sure what i'd like). I tried the lamb as well... the BEST by far!! No-one will ever beat it! Then we washed it all down with floater-coffees (which didn't disappoint!! They matched the standard set by the meals without a doubt!). George then brought out a flaming shot for the birthday boy! I don't hesitate to recommend this place, and i'm gutted I didn't go there sooner! See you again George and family!
Kebab House The – Bristol City CentreGood choice for authentic Turkish food and flavor. The location is convenient in central Bath and the prices are moderate. The service was the best thing about my experience at Marmaris. Suzanne Kelly New Orleans, La USA
Marmaris – BathAbsolutely amazing food, wonderfully enthusiastic staff, very friendly, food choice was excellent and the food was piping hot. We spent almost 2 hours in here they were happy for us to delay deserts. The owner bought out a taster dish even though we'd already ordered just for us to try, it was great to see someone passionate about their food, restaurant and service. Cannot recommend this place enough!!!!!!!!!
Opa Meze Bar and Greek Restaurant – BathI have no idea what restaurant is like as it is impossible to book a table. I rang on two consecutive nights to book a table for 7 people and had to leave a message on their answering machine but they did not ring back. I tried again on Saturday lunch time and this time managed to speak to them but was told they did not have access to bookings and would ring me back - I waited until 7pm and then rang again and once again had to leave another message. It is now Tuesday and they have not yet returned one of my calls. Needless to say we will not be going there. I would suggest they have a look at their customer service issues.
La Bonne Vie – TauntonDid I go to the same restaurant?!!! The decor is like a bad 80's restaurant (think white walls and exposed red brick arches!) The place is full of glamourous grannies in their twin-sets, pearls and overly coifed hair and on the other hand low-rent wag wannabes on dates with muscle-bound louts & is certainly not a hip exclusive eatery. The food is okay, very small limited menu but freshly prepared (what you would expect of any decent restaurant really). Perhaps this is because I have eaten in restaurants all over the world so I have more to compare it to than most but to say it is some orgasmic experience would be a lie. It is mediocre food in a naff little restaurant in the outskirts of Bristol. The staff were pretty friendly however the hostess (an older blonde lady) is pretty indifferent and almost rude. It would seriously need to make it more of an experience to make anybody want to go back there and I am very surprised it has any Michelin stars. I get the vibe it's the sort of place people want to go to to try to be upmarket. It's not upmarket whatsoever, it's nothing special and I for one would certainly not go back there again. I think people say they like it for fear of coming across as uncouth for not understanding it or enjoying "Michelin Star" food. I have eaten in over 20 Michelin Star restaurants all over the world and this certainly isn't of that standard. It's okay not to like it! Just because it has this award doesn't make it automatically fantastic. The flavours are confused and the experience is well..... there isn't one.
Casamia – Westbury-on-TrymDefinitely a restaurant worth visiting! Absolutely fantastic curries and a reasonable price and the atmosphere is just lovely in there. But if you don't want to sit in there is a 15% discount on take aways! (Good if your on a low budget!) I recommend for deserts you get the truffito ice cream. I actually once went there just to get it because i didn't feel like a curry :P But seriously this ice cream is lush, chocolate ice cream covered by a chocolately nutty shell with caramel chocolate sauce in the middle yummmmm.........anyway back to the point, the actual curries are great too! They used top quality spices and the meat isn't like that chewy stuff you get in ready meals, no not at all! Its of the finest quality and if you're a vegetarian, there is a lot of vegetarian dished available. They even have a 'british menu' with omlette and chips :P (Yeh you can tell I go there a lot, I have tried just about everything there!) Its all good and worth visiting, you won't regret it!
British Raj – Westbury-on-TrymScrumptious Cream Tea, £20pp. Add a bottle of Prosecco for £20. Pre-booking required.
