Plucknett The – YeovilA really lovely little restaurant/cafe/bistro just off the beaten-track of George Street. We are daytime regulars (best coffee in Bath we reckon) but went last Friday night to try their famous tapas platters. The place was buzzing. We could tell all the dishes were made from scratch and were absolutely delicious. Next time we want to try their main dishes (rib-eye steak, risottos, sea bream etc.)which the table next to us had and looked divine. Really cosy atmosphere, fantastic fresh food, reasonable prices and a particularly friendly waitress made this an evening to remember
Same-Same But Different – BathA really great little restaurant/cafe just off the beaten track. Same-Same But Different – BathI highly recommend Amici's restaurant. It has recently become a family favourite upon which we can all rely for a delicious meal, cosy atmosphere and attentive, friendly service. Whilst not the most modern interior and despite the slightly alarming (life-size)statue guarding Amici's entrance this venue is totally unpretentious, welcoming and accommodating.
Amici – Bristol City Centreexcellently located, this is a jewel on the river Avon with quality and fine cuisine, atmosphere, excellent service with personal attention from the management to ensure you are well looked after... I had a fabulous time and birthday there! If you are in Bath and look for a place to have drink in the cute and well arranged back garden facing the river before your meal and also stay beyond dinner, well then you now know where to go...
Opa Meze Bar and Greek Restaurant – BathThis is not a recommendation to got and have food at the Cross Hands its a recommendation to stay away. We went there today 11/05/08 and had the Sunday Roast which for £9.50 you think will be good. How wrong can you be, the meat was tough the gravy still had flour lumps in it and they never even brought the veg out for the meal untill we were nearly finished. The Cross hands is not worth the money and it is a place we will not be going back to again!!!!
Cross Hands The – Staple HillHad a really great meal at San Carlo last night - the food was delicious, the service was great, and the location of the restaurant is fantastic.
San Carlo – Bristol City CentreApsolutly Gawjuss Lush Food ( the steak ) recommended big time !! x
Opa Meze Bar and Greek Restaurant – BathI was recently on a visit to the UK from South Africa and had such a fantastic experience at Cobblestones I just wanted to tell everyone about it. The welcome on arrival was excellent - even being greeted by name (we had booked in advance as it was a birthday). We had a relaxing drink in the bar area first so that we could look at the menu and decide what to have. This was a very difficult task as there was so many delicious things to choose from but eventually we decided. The table had been decorated with fresh flowers and there was plenty of room for us to enjoy our evening. The food was excellent and obviously freshly cooked - how nice not to have something that had been thrown in the microwave to heat through, The sauce on my steak was out of this world and the steak was cooked to perfection. If you love deserts - this is the place to go!! What a wonderful selection, even those of us that were too full really to want one were tempted and the cheese platter had a variety of local cheeses that we had not tasted before. The whole experience was wonderful and the hostess made our evening one of the highlight of our trip. If ever we go back to the UK again we will definitely return. We now recommend it to all our friends that are visiting that part of the UK. Well done to everyone at Cobblestones and keep up the good work. 5 star restaurant and service!!
Cobblestones – MineheadOver priced, however food quality reasonable.Found the management had an arrogant attitude. Not a particularly welcoming atmosphere.
Junior Poon – ClevedonEaten at this place numerous times. The owner has produced a good menu and provides well presented well cooked food. If you can book a table do it. You should not be disappointed.
Mon Plaisir – ClevedonI celebrated my birthday a few weeks ago at San Carlo on Corn Street, and I just wanted to let everyone know what a great night I had! The staff were fantastic - they were happy to play along with my parents surprises for me, and sang 'Happy Birthday' to me in Italian with such enthusiasm, I felt like they were close friends! The food was beautiful - we had starters, mains and desserts, and all 3 courses came in record time, were presented beautifully, and tasted great. Overall, a fantastic place to celebrate my birthday - I really enjoyed myself, and without a shadow of a doubt will be returning! Thank you to all of the staff at San Carlo!
San Carlo – Bristol City CentreAppalling. I do not recommend this restaurant. The service was the rudest I have ever encountered. There were various incidents, but to sum up, when I went to the toilets mid-meal, I found upon my return that I had been moved to another table without my consent. They simply do not care whether their customers enjoy their evening or not. Dreadful.
Marmaris – BathMy wife and I visited this restaurant yesterday and were most impressed by the entire experience. The staff were very welcoming and we found the restaurant to be both comfortable and spacious. The restaurant was decorated to a high standard and was spotless. Although the kitchen must have been very busy, our meals were well cooked and nicely presented. The entire menu looked appealing, but we opted for the Hake Goujons with a portion of chips and also the Pork steaks in creamy peppercorn sauce with baby roast potatoes and peas. We finished with a dessert of Sticky Toffee Pudding covered with a Baileys Toffee Sauce, which really was as good as it sounds! We ordered our coffee and were able to enjoy it in the sitting area overlooking the rear garden. We would highly recommended this restaurant.
Cobblestones – MineheadGood indian. Friendly staff, great food, and above all, unlicensed!
Panahar – BathExcellent service, great atmosphere and setting. The Greek wines are well worth a try - really good quality and good value.
Opa Meze Bar and Greek Restaurant – BathA very friendly family-run restaurant. Previously a simple but good Italian, the sons of the owners have now taken over and have high aspirations - modern Fat Duck style food, with an Italian twist. I would strongly recommend the deconstructed Caesar salad and tiramisu - they will exceed your expectations. The tasting menu is very good value and all meals tend to come with little surprise extras. A real treat for all foodies!
