Outstanding food, both in presentation and taste. Service very good. Overall a very enjoyable evening with one of the best meals I've had for a long time.

Visited the olive tree for a Sunday lunch a party of 6 of us as celebrating a birthday., very comfortable pleasant restaurant food was delicious and piping hot, we had starters roast and puddings. Only criticism is that there was not enough gravy, and had no crackling with the pork. We did ask and we were kindly given crackling a a little extra gravy but want quite enough for 6 of us and didn’t want to be a nuisance and ask again.,that was the only minor fault everything else was fabulous., The vegetables and meat cooked to perfection would definitely visit again.

Outstanding - service immaculate, food soo good. Nowhere compares , my bench mark for what quality food , cooking and service looks like.

Table of 6, seated upstairs. Friendly staff. Bit of a shambles. One starter forgotten, one main completely wrong, 2 cocktails forgotten. The food was delicious. We were served by lots of different staff. Who were apologetic . The problem would appear to be they don’t have designated tables to look after so it’s all a bit chaotic, also upstairs gets forgotten. Would love to enjoy the food again but will ask for a table downstairs.

The food, as always, was excellent and everything being gluten free was great. It felt like there was less choice than normal. And the restaurant felt less cosy. Upstairs felt a bit cold and unloved and the lighting a bit stark. That said, it is still my favourite fish restaurant. One of the other reviews mentions it may be closing, if true that might explain the feeling of being unloved, and it will be missed.

This place is on top form Food excellent all round and struggle to pick a favourite Service great as well and wines are excellent On top of that it’s lovely and seasonal too

Fabulous food, great service and very reasonably priced. We went as a couple on the night before Wells Carnival 2023 and on a cold November evening, the restaurant was warm, welcoming and we enjoyed a really good evening. Should we visit Wells again in future, we will have no hesitation in booking again.

Absolutely loved our dinner at Goodfellows. Seriously good food and impeccable service. So look forward to coming back soon!

Brilliant restaurant...Great food and service!

Excellent quality food. Had dinner and we were very satisfied so we went back the day after for Sunday roast- one of the best roasts we had. High commendations for the chef! Amazing staff - friendly and polite. Will definitely go back nextime.

Excellent all round.

This was our second visit and it didn’t disappoint, everything was faultless from the attentive service to the excellent food and wine,. We had the tasting menu and accompanying wines , beautifully balanced and a real treat. This is without doubt the finest restaurant in the surrounding area, a real gem.

A little gem of a restaurant in the beautiful city of Wells. Highly recommended. My favourite restaurant in Wells, 5 stars all round, delicious food , a fantastic selection of starters, mains and puddings. Friendly and accommodating staff. Very good value for money.
