If it was possible, I would give The Olive Tree 10 stars . We have just eaten in this fabulous little restaurant and I can’t believe how good it is. We ate scallops, duck breast, sea bass and lemon cheese cake. Every single item on the plate was an absolute delight and beautifully presented. The highlight of the meal for me was the lemon cheesecake, the best dessert I have ever eaten and I’ve eaten quite a few. The place looks wonderful, the staff/owners are super but the food is the star of the show. Amazing food, well priced and great service. A must visit if you are in Wells.

Our meal this week was amazing. The service was great and we felt very welcome. Every course was delicious and served with a smile. I would highly recommend this restaurant. This was my first visit and I will definitely go back again.

5* for everything! I’ve been wanting to visit for so long and finally found the perfect time to go on Wednesday to celebrate my dad and brothers birthday. I booked it for 5 of us and initially felt a bit nervous since the restaurant gives intimate vibes but the hostess made us feel welcome straight away. They accommodated our requests and questions without a delay. I even heard them with other guests and they were so lovely to everyone, it was such a heartwarming environment. The food was fantastic as well, it did take a while but once it came, there were no issues, it was delicious and tasty. Will definitely come back. Thank you to the ladies who served us.

A lovely little restaurant in the heart of the city of Wells. We stayed in the Swan Hotel in Wells and thought we should try some of the local restaurants so on the first night, Saturday, we tried the Olive Tree. We were not disappointed, excellent and very well presented food and good attentive staff made for a lovely evening. A good well priced menu and wine list and a near perfect location in the centre of Wells. This restaurant is quite rightly popular so my recommendation especially at a weekend is to make sure you book. Thank you to the Cook & all the Staff at the Olive Tree for a lovely evening.

The staff were kind enough but the service was very slow. The food was average but expected better from this restaurant especially for the price! To have 1 very small unisex toilet seems poor. Thought the atmosphere was again ok but only ok. The pictures make the restaurant look far better which raised my expectations only to have an average experience. Just a little disapointed.

We had a lovely meal on Saturday night at The Olive Tree. There was a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant, the serving staff were excellent. There is not a lot of choice on the menu, especially for those preferring meat as it was biased towards fish/veggie options - but that suited me. My trout starter and hake main course were both excellent quality. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for, and for special occasions it is a treat.

We were just intending to have the lunch time two course special, but after two delicious courses we had to try the deserts which were also great. We will definitely be returning to the Green Olive.

We had a delightful lunch on Saturday - everything was delicious the service was excellent, and we felt that the 2-course lunch offer was excellent value for money. A great addition to the Wells food scene!

2nd time. Food was fantastic again. Wine was lovely. Nice vibe. What’s not to like. Make sure you have the banana fritters they are delicious!

This was a truly exceptional meal. Great produce perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Don’t miss the delicious desserts too. This is really fine dining at a very reasonable price. And front of house is very friendly and efficient. No reservations in giving the Olive Tree absolutely top marks. Don’t miss it.

Booked lunch through easy to follow website. Seating really comfortable. As before my wife and I found food excellent, especially the sea bass fillet. Crumble however was found to be too sweet for us. Staff always helpful and cheerful. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Absolutely fabulous!!! what a find, if you want to try the best food ever created book a table at Goodfellows at 7B, a lovely intimate setting,the best food I have ever tasted and waiting staff that make you feel so welcome, we are several hours away but we will be returning to Wells just so we can visit this gem of a restaurant again, truly amazing.

6 of us had a fantastic meal at the Olive Tree . From the moment we walked in the atmosphere and smells of delicious food hit us . The family who own and run the restaurant were so friendly and helpful they give the restaurant its ambiance. We will definitely be back and recommend to all as the food was amazing .
