We popped in last minute just for fish and a bottle of wine The fish , peas and tartare sauce were excellent but the chips were unfortunately overcooked This will not put us off as this is a brilliant restaurant

This is a gem of a restaurant which is incredibly special in every way. Everyone who works there is lovely, kind and very helpful. Adam is an incredible chef and you won't be disappointed with the menu. The flavours he creates are quite sublime and beautifully presented. The other joy is you can watch the chefs cooking your meal. How wonderful to see the love that goes into the creation you are about to taste. Wells has been voted by Which as the best place to visit in the Uk, add Goodfellows to your list and you won't be disappointed.

Goodfellows at 7B – WellsArrived at 8pm with my friend and we’re given a choice of upstairs or down. To eat. We chose upstairs and found a nice table. In the corner. We were both very hungry and chose the pate and white bait which we shared. For our main course we had the shellfish share platter. Which was delicious. The scallops were amazing as they can so easily overcooked and plenty of large prawns and mussels . We did however have to ask for a finger bowl which I thought they would have brought to the table due to the nature of our main course. When they arrived they were Luke warm . Staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant however looks a little tired and would benefit from a little tlc. We had the seabass which was slightly overcooked and served with roast potatoes that were rubbery in texture as though warmed up and not freshly done. Overall we did not enjoy our meal and didn't find it value for money.
