Arrived a bit early. Very cold and no one else seated.1st opinion on walking in was are we in the right place. Chairs and decor very scruffy. The bbq tasted good but way over priced .we only had water as we could see how much it was going to cost.the bbq for consists of a bowl of cos lettuce, 2 small dishes of meat and a trio of dips. That cost £19 ....seriously. we had to order extra rice ,meat and lettuce at extra cost.for 4 people it was just shy of £100 never again.

Booked a table for 5 and a 3month old baby, the staff enquired wether we wanted a high chair or a baby bouncer which we thought was very kind. The food and service was fantastic the menu was full of tasty dishes, between us we had steak and fish dishes the steaks were cooked perfectly ,and the fish was fresh and tasty would definitely recommend

We didn't feel very covid secure lots of coughing in the restaurant the fish was very mediocre very soggy batter

Had a most superb meal. I have eaten lobster Thermidor all over the world but this was the best and the cheapest. Absolutely incredible.

Visited the Magpie cafe on 12 Nov. Had to try the fish and chips and fish pie had been recommended so my daughter and I shared. Regular size battered cod; more than enough. Both dishes delicious. Light batter, fluffy chips and creamy fish pie with plenty of fish. Service good, friendly staff. Lovely

Generally OK, we were party of 14 and more than half were very happy. I can only review what I had which was calamari starter, which was acceptable and pizza for main which was pretty tasteless to be quite honest.

Wonderful, delicious and hearty food! We were not disappointed with our first visit to Brontaes, it will definitely not be the last. We LOVED the scallops, pig cheek and chorizo, pan friend hake and blood orange cheesecake. Was really reasonably priced too despite the food being top quality. So excited to have this sort of British restaurant on our doorsteps. We will be back!

It was an awful experience; 8.45pm service. Staff did their best, but clearly tired. Very little on the advertised menu was available; no ventilation; extremely hot. Management team not present; unfortunately had to sit adjacent to an awful party celebrating a most gross, obscene man celebrity his 50th birthday; we had to listen to the most obscene language I have ever heard; then moving on to anecdotes about date rape Pure class and changed us £90 for the “privilege “ Never again

Super meal, welcome on arrival could have been a bit better. Service at the table was good. Fabulous fish and chips!
