Meadows Brewers Fayre – BarnsleyVery poor waited 1 hour for table then told Sunday lunch was off, on a Sunday! and that the same happened last week. Staff poor food only OK . Avoid
Meadows Brewers Fayre – BarnsleyWent in their third week of being opened and found it extremely busy but with a very friendly young staff who went out of their way to accommodate us even though we hadn't booked. We are vegetarian and vegan and the vegan is wheat intolerant but we managed to eat and drink fairly well and it was lovely to have a gluten-free pasta option. A few slight problems with what is considered suitable for vegetarians (a dish with anchovies was labelled with a V, as were a few dishes containing Parmesan cheese which is always made with animal rennet) but the dishes we had were tasty and wholesome and presented well, not fussy but quite rustic. We had a bottle of white wine and two glasses of red, one starter, two main courses (my mushroom risotto was excellent), a side of spinach with garlic and olive oil and we each had a glass of amaretto and my partner had a double espresso which he said was really good. Service was included and the meal came to about £60 which was fairly good value. We will definitely go again but will make sure we book next time and I hope this new restaurant will be here to stay.
I have dined at Buon Apps twice. First time was great - I chose to go on a Wednesday evening, 3 courses for £15 and regional specialities. Very good food, excellent service, lovely atmosphere. My second visit was less successful. Although my partner's pizza was very good, I was a little disappointed in my Melanzane, I felt it lacked flavour, but more importantly, when I asked for a recommendation for accompanying vegetable I was offered cabbage, and was expecting perhaps some cavolo nero or similar. What arrived was chunky white cabbage, covered in plain old melted cheddar, I think. It detracted from, rather than improved the main course. I won't be put off going again, but I will choose more carefully next time.
Buon Apps River Lounge and Italian Restaurant – OtleyI would love to write a review about the food at this establishment but regrettably, for myself and Dos Amigos, all I can do is write about the worst service I have ever experienced. I called up to book at 20:40 on a Friday night and was told there would be no problem with a table. As we were in the vicinity I and my partner arrived within 10 minutes. We were shown to a table and give a menu. At 21:10 the waitress finally actually took our order, despite sitting at the table with our menus down trying to get her attention for about 15 minutes. We ordered a couple of drinks and our meal. We then sat there until 22:05 awaiting our food, eventually we managed to talk to a waitress when we noticed someone who had come in after us eating. We were told that they had lost the order and nothing had been done on our food. A very curt apology was offered. At this point I paid for my drinks, left and ate at a different restaurant. Needless to say I will not be visiting again. I would have understood if the restaurant was particularly busy, but there were 16 people in the restaurant (I counted, I had plenty of time). The waitresses simply believed that having a nice chat behind the till was a better use of there time.
Dos Amigos – HeadingleyI would not recommend Browns restaurant in Leeds, having been there this week for a steak. The rib eye steak was half the size it should be was served with frozen chips and water cress. Waited a long time for a poor meal. The soup starter was nice, however two very small slices of bread from a baguette is not good enough, anywhere you go in Europe you are always served a basket of bread when ordering soup. Very disappointed. But you know what they say, you only get ripped off once. Never again.
Browns Restaurant – Leeds City CentreI attended the Beatles tribute night at £25pp which included a 3 course meal, delicious as always! We had a party of 12 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. One of our party was vegetarian and they were extremely well catered for. The service was second to none, the staff were efficient, friendly and cheerful. We have booked again for the Blues Brothers in March and also for Show Time in April and can't wait!!!!
North Sea – Pudseyate hear last Saturday food as good as ever but please book so you do not have to wait.
British Oak Inn – WakefieldI met Bobby Patel for a business meeting - Bobby 'treated' me to a taster of his restaurants cuisine. I was bowled over: beautiful, intense, rich, gorgeous flavours. I never imagined in my wildest dreams vegetarian food could taste so very good - and I'm a stoic meat eater! I would recommend Prashads to anyone interested in an authentic and mouthwatering experience.
Prashad – BradfordI and my partner had a terrible experience at Da Sandro Ristorante in late January 2010. The starters and mains took an excessive amount time to be served, unexpectedly cold. I was given a dirty glass, which was changed, then the same dirty glass was given back to me with my next drink! We attempted to order deserts but after waiting 20 minutes to be served I cancelled the order. If the Ristorante had been busy some of this would be explainable but it wasn't! Not an experience I'd like to relive.
Da Sandro – Huddersfieldthis is one of the most best Indian restaurant everybody should visit and find out for themselves.the staff are brill, and decoration of kashmira are one of the best.its clean and bright, just like all the staff and management.keep up the good work. forgot to say the food is ace also.affordable, well presented and a taste to die for. well done to you all.val
Kashmiri Aroma – IlkleyThis place is unbeatable on all aspects of Indian cooking from tandoori to curry. I promise you will not be disappointed. Think all the staff are on happy pills as they are always keen and willing to satisfy your requirements
Indian Cottage Restaurant – GuisboroughHad a table booked Saturday evening 8.15 for 2. Rang at 7.35 asking to increase it to 3 people. It was sorted out immediately....hows that for service from a busy restaurant. Needless to say the food, service and atmosphere was up to its usual high standard. Keep it up Bella Roma !!!!
Bella Roma – WakefieldThis is simply the best asian cuisine in England! We have dined here every week for the last 8 years and never once had a bad meal. Khalid, Mushi, Tony and all the staff are always welcoming, efficient and friendly. We have tried the mega buffet and it is quite simply stunning. Give the others in the vicinity a miss and you will not be disappointed. Congratulations and all the best to all the team on a fantastic upstairs dining area. It is truly superb. Well done!
Polash Tandoori Restaurant – PudseyJUST EATEN AT BRSSERIE BLANC IN LEEDS FOR THE 1ST TIME, IT WAS BRILL. CANTWAIT TO GO BACK AGAIN. LOOKS LIKE BOOKING FOR MOTHERS DAY
Brasserie Blanc – Leeds City CentreThe Board is a great place to eat and drink. The staff are really friendly and helpful unlike the other pubs in Hawes. They took me round the accommodation and it is not what I expected its lovely. I cannot rate this pub too highly.
Board Hotel – RichmondGreat Bradford style curry in Wakefield. Superb home made style onion bhajis, great curries, lassi and free chapatis. Recommended to take away or as a cafe eat in.
Islamabad – WakefieldI went there with my friends last fri. We really had a great time there. I ordered curry puffs for my starter and they were very nice. My main dish pork panaeng curry was superb, the grilled pork chop was tender and the curry sauce was very well seasoned(not too spicy!). The waitress who served was really nice and helpful. We'll definitely be back there:)
