Naseeb – BradfordWe have visited this pub frequently when visiting Ripon.Pub grub has always been value for money.Last visit was Sunday 28/09/08 for Sunday Lunch. The prices have increased but it is still good value for money.Pleasant staff, the pub has been recently re furbished(nine weeks ago) but still retains its character. We would recommend a visit. They also do senior citizens rates.
Golden Lion The – RiponWe've been going to Prashad's for a couple of years now and really look forward to meals there. The Renghan and Pea is stunning, the Paneer Masala so light and flavoursome, their Tarka Dal a must. Try the Kidchi (rice and lentil mix), their award winning Pethis and their Special Chaat. It's a small, intimate, family run place with a unique menu and friendly service.
Prashad – BradfordFantastic food and a wine list that many London restaurants could only dream of. The main restaurant is charming, both relaxed and glamorous, with impeccable service. The breakfast experience is worth the price of the room! The brasserie is a much more casual dining experience and has a slightly chaotic atmosphere and is less comfortable with it's ultra modern decor, great if you are with a group of friends but the romance is in the main restaurant.
Burlington Restaurant – Skiptonbrilliant, welcoming 'Yorkshire' pub - proper open fires in winter, extremely well kept & interesting beers (mark of a great beer pub is a good turnaround in barrels - nothing worse than stale beer). Food is 'appropriate' - this isn't a flash gastropub, but a good pub offering a wide choice of great food at all levels from sandwiches to the full roast. Equally welcoming to families or lone walkers. Best way to enjoy, is take in an hours walk in the pennines beforehand, grab a fireside seat & enjoy a pint & ploughmans,
The Fleece Inn – HolmfirthThe service was very friendly and the food was excellent. The coconut and garlic balls lived up to their award winning status and the mushrooms very juicy. The main dishes were very flavoursome and piping hot. All in all a fantastic evening. Don't forget to pop round to the takeaway for some great sweets as well.
Prashad – Bradfordi went for my mums birthday it was amazing. The food was lovely and the staff were so nice. Definitely my favourite restaurant so far!xxx
Wok 1 Cantonese Restaurants – DoncasterWe came here for our wedding anniversary. We were given the table by the window overlooking the picturesque river with the ducks, geese and swans floating by. We had a three-course dinner - carrot and butternut squash soup with walnut bread; broccoli and blue vegan cheese flans; Yorkshire rhubarb crumble with custard; chocolate plum cake. We chose a bottle of Italian wine which was absolutely delicious and which complimented the meal beautifully. It was one of the best meals we have had for a very long time. We hope to visit this delightful restaurant when we are again in Yorkshire. This is the best advert for Sowerby Bridge ever.
Dandelion and Burdock – Sowerby Bridgei really enjoyed it when i went to the restaurant all their staff were really helpful and friendly
Sandown Family Restaurant – BridlingtonI ate here as I came here as a child, unfortunately the service was poor, the burgers were no better than McDonald's, it was expensive given it's lack of flavour and most of all long island ice teas are supposed to be a long drink! Poor! Even overheard the staff moaning about tips! Appalling!
Damn Yankee – HarrogateWe heard about this newly opened vegetarian café and decided to give it a try. It is a small café, cosy and very friendly. The two young ladies who run it are ever so friendly and helpful. I had the butternut squash and chick pea curry, which was very delicious. Situated fairly close to the centre of town, it is a welcome addition to the attractions of the town. We shall certainly be coming here again. I can recommend this place to one and all.
The Veggie Cafe – IlkleyWe came here on a Saturday evening and it was packed! It was just as well that we had booked in advance. I had sweet potato and ginger cakes with lime cilantro and vegan sour cream; Asian smoked tofu salad; and a blueberry cheesecake. The meal was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great. This is certainly a place that I would visit again. I can recommend this to both vegetarian and non-vegetarians alike.
Dandelion and Burdock – Sowerby BridgeWe went to this brilliant restaurant on a Saturday night during a recent visit to York. The food was completely fantastic. We both had the Kapodokya Special. Rarely do you encounter a meal the taste of which makes you Mmmmmmmmm with delight repeatedly, but this is one of them. It was so so good that although we were both full (the portions are generous) we were determined to eat it all just because it was soooooo good. I even considered asking for another portion to take home with me. The service and attention was excellent and we were offered a free coffee whilst we waited for our taxi to arrive. Only regret - I don't live near enough to visit more often, otherwise I would be there to work my way through the menu every weekend. Will be a regular each time I'm in York. Well Done to Owner and Staff.
Kapadokya – Yorkwhat has happened to The Woodlands? One minute great food, next minute wierd "con-fusion" cooking and now just bland and average? Needs to cement an identity and stick too it
Woodlands Hotel – MorleyJust had my first experience at Bibis Leeds and I was very disappointed. The food was ridiculously overpriced for what I would say was a very average meal. For instance, the "roasted garlic and minted olive oil" lamb chops which I could have easily cooked at home (if I couldn’t be bothered to cook that night) tasted of nothing more than grilled lamb chops. I’m amazed that some reviews are actually positive. From reading a handful of reviews it seems that this restaurant relies heavily on its past reputation. The service was poor, no one bothered to check if we enjoyed our meal at any point of the evening (we didn’t!). As a result we felt obliged to remove the included optional service charge. The one positive which we took from the evening was that we enjoyed the starter and deserts however this does not mean we will ever consider returning.
Bibis Italianissimo – Leeds City CentreI would like to thank the Punch Bowl Inn for a very pleasant overnight stay. All the staff were very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was first class . The rooms were clean and well furnished, all with en suite facilities and overall an excellent choice of venue.
Punch Bowl, The – ThorneWe came here with my parents. On the evening when we visited, we had a veritable feast. We shared sweet potato and ginger cakes with lime cilantro and vegan sour cream; beetroot and cream cheese; hummus and bread; Thai tofu curry with rice noodles; Asian smoked tofu salad; and blueberry cheese cake. It was heavenly! We shall certainly come here again. I can heartily recommend this great restaurant..
