The food is extremely good and really consistent. I think the main drawback (although this won't be the case for long) is that if there's a smoker (or ten) the atmosphere can be rather nasty. The dining area itself is functional, nothing more. Service is very good if you like things quick, but this is not the place for a relaxed romantic meal. But, let me stress again, the food is great ... really great ... I'm taking some friends there tonight!

Maxis Balti is extremely satisfying their food was delicious i recommend Maxis to everyone out there and the time it took to make my meal was excellent also the service was proven to be the best too and throughout all of my years of eating out, maxis is truly the best i have ever come across!

Strawberryfields ceased to be a bistro 5 years ago when it changed to being solely a bar, still owned by same couple, it is a friendly bar selling really great cheap cocktails, absinthe etc, a truly independent bar- no chains here.

Fantastic food wouldn't go anywhere else. Been to other Chinese? but not a patch on this one. Rachel and peter the owners are very friendly make you very welcome. that good my mum goes every weekend. Once you've tried you won't want to go anywhere else

...having eaten in many Thai restaurants around Leeds including the very lavish and expensive ones I found Jinos to be the tastiest and by far the most enjoyable eating experience. The staff are very very friendly and make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive, because of it's location Jinos has wide cross section of clientele from young to old which I have found gives the place an atmosphere which is a delight to eat in, I have eaten there many many times and each time the service and the food have been unquestionable. I have been informed by my girlfriend who lived in Thailand for six months that the food is exactly as the food she ate whilst there! I cannot recommend Jinos enough and I? sure after one visit you like me will become regular patron to this absolute gastronomic find.

Absolutely fantastic. I had never had Japanese food before but I will definitely be coming back. The chefs provide great entertainment and the food was delicious - I particularly enjoyed the tempura and the prawns. Highly recommended.

I visited this restaurant for the first time on my Birthday this year after numerous recommendations from friends. From the minute I walked in I liked it, not shabby interior like recent Indian restaurants i have visited, chic and sophisticated, the lighting gave a relaxed mood in which we enjoyed drinks whilst browsing the menu. There were 5 of us eating and we shared poppadoms and dips for starters which were lovely and the waiters were very attentive. We ordered our main courses and with prior knowledge of the size of the nans, were careful not to over order as they are huge!! I had the chicken korma and it was just divine, creamy, tasty, the best I?e ever had and the nans were cooked (freshly, you can see them making them in the glass fronted Kitchen) to perfection. With persuasion from my mum i accepted the ice cream and sparkler and was highly surprised/embarrassed when all the waiters gathered round to sing to me! We had our photo taken by Polaroid and given it in a presentation card which was a very nice gesture, a memory now i can cherish. The only niggle i had was that they cleared up so fast you had to make sure you hadn't left anything on your plate you actually wanted! But with the amount of food on tables this is hardly a criticism, just efficiency i suppose. The total bill was very reasonable and i have been longing to go back ever since!! (i'm working on the boyfriend!!)

My family and I dined at Lazaat over the weekend, during their 'Monsoon Time' . We had a fantastic meal, the service was excellent and had a really warm welcome!

WOW! i think is the only word that can describe this restaurant! a number one venue for that special occasion or family day out! The staff made us feel very welcome especially the young manager Ben who made the evening very entertaining! I don? think my wife and family could stop laughing all night! This is a restaurant like no other, a real landmark for York! A great large selection of starters, mains, and desserts were available, with a good drinks list on the side. Very fun and affordable. I can guarantee you have not eaten pizza or pasta in a setting like this! There is no other! recommended first choice!

We popped in this typical town pub, with its very impressive frontage, for lunch on our visit to Hull. The food was enjoyable but nothing special and the only ?eal ale?available was John Smiths. A jukebox provided the music. Not a bad pub for a quick pint and a spot of lunch.

Made very welcome on every visit; the food is special, cooked with passion. Highly recommended.

I have enjoyed many meals at Maureen's and keep going back for the fine home cooking in all the dishes. My favourite is the ackee and salt fish. Whether for eat-in or take-away, this is a place to frequent when you feel like some sound Caribbean food.
