A great place to finish off your evening with a coffee or hot chocolate and an Italian pastry. Squeeze in side by side with the locals but look out if Italian footie is on the TV as it'll be standing room only. Authentic Italian serving staff contribute to a great atmosphere.

We couldn't book but managed to grab a seat at the cramped downstairs bar while we waited. A nice busy atmosphere. Some of the tapas type dishes were too small to share but the meatballs were filling. Would go again but not when I'm so hungry...

A slice of nostalgia in the heart of Soho. Start off at the bar with a cocktail - there are always set menus at great prices and you get as good a service. We weren't rushed off our table and spent the night chatting. Look out for burlesque and cabaret nights - they're great fun!

A great venue for brunch.The ride in the glass elevator was an adventure itself. Had a cocktail at the bar with an amazing view. Food was a little disappointing - chewy pigs ears... And uninspiring Full English. Wouldn't go back but worth a one off visit.

Fantastic decoration, fantastic waitresses, fantastic quick and delicious bite. Me with my family first visited the British Museum and finished the day at this restaurant. We recommend it.

After a day of shopping in the centre of London, my visitors were so relieved to step into friendly, homely Trattoria Verdi to regenerate before returning to their nearby hotel. The warm, friendly welcome and super tasty and plentiful Italian fare left them ready for further adventures in our capital city.

Recently held an event at this venue. The environment and surroundings was cosy and relaxing. I was very impressed by the customer service. Staff went over and above to accommodate our wishes. The variety of food served and the presentation was first class. Will be back soon and definitely booking up for my special event next year. Well done guys, keep up the good work.

Dont bother! Simple As!

The food was fantastic, the venue was elegant and the staff were attentive and on point.

Dropped in here for a meal before seeing Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre with a view to test-driving their steaks. How much better were they really going to be than prime fillet from your local butcher? It’s a basement location with a greeter at ground level, a downstairs bar and then through to the ‘industrial chic’ dining room. The (English) barmaid was a real misery, deliberately avoiding any kind of eye contact, whereas our (Portuguese) waiter was very friendly and attentive. The wines seemed reasonable for London and the steak was frankly good but not great. Tender as you would expect but the outside of our medium rare Chateaubriand was charred to the point where it just tasted unpleasantly burnt and at £84.50 for 650g you expect slightly better. Great atmosphere though.

My husband brought me to Trattoria Verdi to celebrate our wedding anniversary last week, and he made the right choice. The waitresses were very friendly and also discreet. On this important occasion we wanted Verdi’s supreme choice, fish and seafood dishes. For starters we shared the Scotch smoked salmon, and prawns cocktail and took an excellent sparkling wine to go with it, then for the main course along with the grilled Dover sole, and the fried calamari my husband enjoyed, we chose the Pinot Grigio. By coincidence, I am told, the pianist also played a couple of our favourite melodies. We chose treats from their dessert tray to conclude the meal. Indeed, the food, wine, ambiance and the service at Trattoria Verdi was all top notch. I am proud of my guy!

We attended this bar, and saw a member of staff pour around 5 litres of water over an innocent vulnerable girl, who ran into the toilet in tears.If you look around the internet you will see various reviews that talk about this pub having unreasonable manager with a unbelievable bad attitude.. But our experience is by far the worsted.At no point was there any regret as both the manager and barman found this hysterically funny.The manager told us he did this all the time and gets away with it. He boasts that he knows all the rules and is able to use physical violence against customers and be within the law.We suffered physical force and verbal abuse. And then was contacted by telephone by the landlady. Instead of trying to investigate, I found her to be even more aggregated.It is advised that there are lots of bars in London, where you can guaranteed a professional respect from the staff.Life is too short to use this public house.And to quote the manager, 'if you don't like it your can f@ck off'. It is good advice.Please use a different establishments instead.

Cool and nice.

I went to Wing's Buffet last night with my family after an absence of more that a year to find that it had changed owners. You now have to pay upfront, which I can understand if the restaurant has customers who run without paying. However, even before I had tasted the food,I began to understand another reason we were asked to pay beforehand; the noodle dishes were almost devoid of vegetables and meat and the other dishes looked as if only the colour of the sauces had been varied. On tasting, I found everything unbarably salty. The vegetables I tried were no exception, and came in a sauce that resembled wallpaper paste. The fried peanuts were burned, steamed rice was crunchy and the side salad cut into such tiny slivers that it tasted like hay. The food overall was shocking and in no way resembeles any Chinese food I've ever eaten. However if you are indifferent to food, like it well salted, and are only concerned with eating your own bodyweight in meat and noodles, this place is right up your street. Incidently, I thought the place was Halal? That can sit well with Chinese cuisine, but having pork set out with other dishes is surely a no no. Perhaps the new owner is as cynical about this as he is about the business in general. After reading the other reviews that have been added this year, I can't believe that they are for real. I will end by saying that if you have to see for yourself, don't lay any money down until you've seen the food!

Food is ok.

We have always found this Chinese excellent and always received very good service. We have been going there for many years and and I do not understand anyone that is not happy with this very good value Chinese buffet. If you go when it is very quiet yes the food turnover is not very quick but it still is a very high standard. We are treated very well and the service is always outstanding do not listen to people that complain they must be off their head. The lunch time meal is good value at £4.50 and the evening one at £8.90 can't go wrong going on Sunday for lunch hmmmmm.

My girlfriend and I went last Saturday in this restaurant, Wow it is a very nice local Chinese restaurant with friendly attentive staff. The foods are deliciously fresh and clean. The egg fried rice is very nice, as was everything. I would really recommend this restaurant if you are looking for Chinese food in East London. The Chinese brocolli, mixed vegetables, seafood with vegetables was perfectly cooked, crunchy and very good. The roast pork, roast duck, spare ribs was cooked very nice. I will definitely come back and celebrate my birthday here.
