Cafe Rouge – Edinburghdreadful meal last saturday, food greasy, salty, bland and overpriced...these jokers should actually go to spain and see what real tapas is all about. Patas bravas just tex mex wedges covered in ketchup...an aubergine dish tasted of nothing but rancid cooking grease. Avoid this restaurant at all costs as Glasgow has far better to offer!
Barca Tapas – GlasgowI went to this restaurant at the beginning of the year 2008. They served real Thai food and staffs were very friendly. =) I love it there and will dine there again when I visit Edinburgh next time.
Thai Orchid – EdinburghThe Best Restaurant in Glasgow, and the Staff are top class.
Thai Lemon Grass Restaurant – GlasgowIf you want amazing sushi at a reasonable price head to Bonsai! I am truly an addict. The salted squid in tempura batter is sooo good! And warm sake too! : )
Bonsai Bar Bistro – EdinburghProbably the best Indian Restaurant in Glasgow and probably the most difficult to find. The Shenaz is not situated on a main road with an eye-catching sign; instead, the exterior is simple and in a way perfect. The menu boasts a plentiful choice and the quality and portions are excellent!
Shenaz – GlasgowDirty menu and served by a balding grumpy man who had a manner bypass. questions like "YOU?" and a look of disinterest certainly didn't help. this was no language or cultural difference, just a man who couldn't be bothered. Ordered two main courses, Thai Green curry and red curry for myself. the red curry was ok at best but when i asked about how thick the noodles were before ordering i was told they were not thick and not thin. a thick noodle plate dually arrived as the guy obviously hadnt a clue. The waitresses were pleasant, the green curry was bland, we were seated facing another couple less than a meter away and all in all for £60 a very disappointing Thai meal. First time i have ever felt the need to go on and feedback. not good.
Thai Lemon Grass Restaurant – GlasgowA large party of us went here just before Christmas. The food was excellent, authentic and the staff were very friendly. This is a very good restaurant and well worth a visit.
Phuket Pavillion – Edinburghwonderful food, service, atmosphere. try the goats cheese with orange marmalade! I dream about it now.. good fun place for a cosy couple or a big bunch of people to share lots of dishes. mmmmm
Cafe Andaluz – GlasgowVery good restaurant with modern decor and polite, attentive staff. Extensive menu with lots of unusual dishes, some exclusive to Zest. Handy city centre location. Nice unusual touch were the oranges that were provided after the meal. Price of dinner for three, including drinks was £57. Noticed that they have a lunch special for £4.95
Zest – EdinburghSituated in Haddington, this is a very good restaurant with an extensive menu. Service is excellent the staff are very pleasant and the surroundings are pleasant. Quality of food is very good, particular good value is the buffet on Sundays.
Eastern Eye – Edinburghbrilliant, went back for a second time to try the banquet as recommended by the waiter. Cant get enough of this place. Just wish I didn't have to travel to the other side of the m8 to dine there. When are you opening in Edinburgh?
Balbirs Restaurant – GlasgowA hidden Gem set in the wrong end of town, and unchanged in 30 years. You take your life in your hands getting here (A number of doss houses and cheap hotels surround the place) but inside the staff are great and the chef expert at the craft of tasty extra large portions served from the pot to the table in seconds. Try any of the sizzlers for a real taste bud experience. Over the 10 years we have been regulars here there have been puch up's, drive by shootings, lots of spilt wine, but always a great night to be had with Amin and his trusty bunch of helpers, not forgetting his Dad in the kithen. South Indian Chilli Ccicken & Tandori Mix are a couple of our choices, & you get to bring your own wine, beer, spirits etc. Nan bread is the size of a suitcase & takeaways are cheap, tasty and in mega proportions.
Anarkali Indian – GlasgowThai lemongrass Glasgow is a delightful place to eat...food never disappoints, the service is smooth and the polite manner of the staff is refreshing to see. The food is typical Thai with the monkfish being a favourite in red curry. The authentic decor is also to be enjoyed. Choose a booth for added privacy and don't be afraid to ask for more prawn crackers! Staff remember you when you return which is an added pleasure.
Thai Lemongrass – EdinburghTHE FOOD IS LOVELY AND ALSO VERY CHEAP. THE STAFF ARE VERY HELPFUL AND KIND. THERE IS A WAITRESS MICHELLE WHO IS VERY NICE AND FRIENDLY
Delhi Darbar – GlasgowMy husband and I took my friend who was visiting from England. It was her first time to visit Scotland. Eating in the restaurant added to her very positive experience. The whole experience was helped by the warm welcome and excellent service from all the staff. I would highly recommend eating here and will return again myself. The menu was extensive and should appeal to all tastes.
Bella Italia – GlasgowSnooks is a great place to eat! Dont be put off by the exterior as it is not very pretty! the food is amazing! cooked exactly as you want and the service is impeccable! Quite pricey but you get what you pay for!! Remember and ask for a doggy bag if you cant finish your food!!
SJ @ Snooks – Glasgowlets be clear, marmaris is a kebab shop but seriously, it's the best kebab shop in edinburgh. i travel around 35 mins passing literally about 12 kebab shops to get my chicken donner or sheesh from them. friendlyfolks and top top scran.
Marmaris Kebab House – Edinburgh2 courses for £16. Available Monday to Friday until 7pm.
