Great fish & chips and reasonably priced too. The service is quick and the staff are very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for our waitress Kerry.

Excellent fish and chips - large portions of fresh haddock - fish supper typically 2 good sized pieces of fish and tasty traditional chips - c£4.20 - roughly a pound cheaper than Livingston or Edinburgh and far superior.

Under the stewardship of renowned restaurateurs David and Lesley Foxton, the Maltings Kitchen has been reborn as a chic and contemporary eatery with an outstanding wines list and an easy charm. A simple, delicious menu is set off by incredible views over the River Tweed across the Georgian roofscape of Berwick-within-the-ramparts and the Jacobean Berwick Bridge. The Maltings Kitchen is set at foyer level in The Maltings Theatre - which has itself been recently extensively refurbished - and it is possible to obtain a pre-theatre supper, including a delicious glass of house wine, for just £10 on performance nights. Outstanding value; simple, delicious food; a warm ambience and a unique and inspirational location all make this one of my favourite restaurants.

Ok well Ive been to this restaurant a few times at lunchtime and been very impressed with the menu and lovely setting. The food is fab. However, yip you've guessed it there's a but coming; BUT I have recently been for an evening meal. Now first of all I looked at the menu online , nothing to say sample menu etc however the actual menu differs greatly not just in content but in price. Very limited and to be honest it was difficult to find something to choose as everything seemed to be accompanied by something a bit odd!! My falafel were ok, nothing I couldn't make at home from a packet mix though and my potato wedges were definitely reheated in some for or other. So to be honest MY opinion is give the evening menu a miss but enjoy the lunchtime food. Oh the service was really slow we were sat near to the lift where the food came up from the kitchen and ours sat in it for at least 10mins before the lovely but overworked waitress had time to serve the food. So Hullabaloo don't remain complacent just because you get the custom please sort out your website and hire more staff!! oh and stop trying too hard with the fancy combinations, just a wee bit.

This is one of the best restaurants in East Kilbride. Its menu is varied and caters for people who don’t like seafood. For those seafood lovers, the fish is very fresh and is cooked to perfection. The staff are friendly and attentive. It is quite a small restaurant so to avoid disappointment I would recommend you book beforehand, especially weekends. It is also good value for money and if you have an appetite after your main course, I would definitely try their desserts as they are delicious

After 8 years away from China sea restaurant, nothing much has changed apart from spoiled choices from their economic menu. I was surprised one of the waiters, a talkative young man, actually remembered us after all these years. My wife and I ordered our usual meals, but to our disappointment, not only were there no improvements with this economic downturn, the meals were worst than before. The really upsetting moment was when we pleasantly give the management a comment, since we were asked at the end of our meal, we were given rude feedback. Apparently the manager just can't accept the truth. One last comment, my wife noticed a hygiene issue which must have been overlooked by the Environmental health officers, is that the ladies toilet, not to mention tiny, is carpeted, which shouldn't be ( or is it acceptable? ) for hygiene reasons. Anyway, these are just our experience recently in the China Sea.

We were recommended The George by a friend with great knowledge of Scotland and it did not disappoint! Our room was excellent and the bar/restaurant had real character and charm. The award winning food hit the spot too. I asked who owned the business when I checked out and was informed the place is 5th generation in the same family. That says it all. Go there....

Enjoyed the warm hospitality of the Loch Leven hotel and its very friendly proprietress. Its right on the water by the bridge very near Glen Coe. The food was good and on the night we were there a Gaelic were playing in the bar. The place is filled with a lot of tat and could do with a lick of paint in parts. However I would recommend it as a place to stay or have a fine feed.

A pal of mine told me about the Anarkali about a year ago. Coming from the east end of glasgow myself i had only ever really eaten curries from kebab shops and the like. The delhi Darbar in auchinairn is probably about the best i had had til then. however, after one visit to the Anarkali i was hooked. The chicken tikki karahi is amazing and the garlic naan was indescribable. the portion sizes are huge so me and the missus usually get one meal to share and we're still completely stuffed afterwards. the best indian i've ever had....thats no lie. I reckon you'd need to jump a flight to india to taste a better indian meal. plus its directly accross the road from the Tir Connail bar ans the Queens Park cafe which is handy for a pre-meal drink. Enjoy

Had a wonderful time in the Highlands in part due to my stay at the Plockton Hotel. The village is truly magical and the hotel has stunning views over the harbour. The bar area of the pub has a real nautical feel and they specialise in seafood. Our meals were excellent and definitely justified their many awards. I will be returning!

We passed this pub on our way to Loch Katerine and called in for lunch. The food was amazing and beautifully presented and the staff we're lovely. The pub has a great atmosphere and they had the log fire burning away with nice background music on. Our dog was made welcome too! A little gem hidden away and I can recommend it to anyone.

This used to be the best Mexican restaurant in Edinburgh. I am pretty sure it's the worst now. I was a regular for many years but I had not been in since 2005. My family and a friend went here in August 2008 and I will never go back. The place was hot and very loud. There seemed to be 2 stag parties going on and we asked the staff if they could perhaps ask the noise levels to be kept at a reasonable level. We were ignored. The starters took over 30 mins to arrive and were cold, when we asked to have them taken back there was a bit of a language barrier or the waitresses couldn’t hear us over the 20+ guests singing and shouting very loudly. The mains took 45 mins and again were cold. My poor friend ordered the Chicken with Mole Sauce. The sauce was made with sweet chocolate, not bitter. I’m not joking. It tasted like a bar of dairy milk had been melted onto it. We asked if there had been a mistake, did someone accidentally use the pudding sauce on it?! We were told no. That was the correct sauce. It was totally inedible. As we were all getting headaches we decided to leave. We were unable to find anyone who was willing to discuss a discount for such an appalling and insanely expensive meal. I am so saddened to see what was once my favourite restaurants become the total opposite.

One of *the* best meals I've had in recent times. The chef is an artist; every course was prepared with thought and care, and you could taste it. Try the oatmeal coated haggis... you'll love it :) Highly recommended!

we had the meze meal for 3 and were very disappointed in the quality and quantity of the food. The waiter was very unfriendly and unhelpful - haughty even - I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Good food, lovely restaurant and great staff, but, 5.75 for a glass of ordinary Rioja spoilt an otherwise excellent lunch which is a shame.

I have just visited the Loft and had one of the best steaks i have ever eaten, the presentation was superb along with the service, the staff very attentive and very good value for money

Went along to Snooks for dinner with my mum and son...what a night we had. The staff are very warm and welcoming and can't do enough for you to make your evening an enjoyable one. After looking at the menu, we couldn't decide on what to order - there is so much to choose from, such variety. Finally, we did decide and we weren't disappointed with our choice. The starters were delicious, but our main meals even more so.The Surf n Turf and T-bone Steak were mouthwatering. Our waiter was especially helpful when it came to my sons favourite meal of chicken nuggets - he asked if he would prefer batter or breadcrumbs on the freshly prepared chicken. Didnt think we would have room for dessert, but after seeing what was on offer we just had to try.... choca roca cheescake was to die for! It makes a nice change to go out to a restaurant with friendly, attentive staff instead of the usual conveyor belt of get them in and out. I'll be back.
