We could not find a fault. Relaxed, great service without being over the top and exquisite food. The dishes we enjoyed were the work of a seriously talented and committed chef. Thank you. The best meal I can remember for a very long time.
Hamnavoe – Orkneys and ShetlandsI have lunch at the Golden Lion when in Stirling and usually it is a very pleasant experience. I have to say yesterday was quite disappointing. The restaurant was busy and there seemed to be just one waitress doing most of the work. When we arrived she was complaining to another member of staff that she needed more help. She was visibly angry and upset which made us uncomfortable. Also, the cost of the food had gone up . We had fish and chips which was tasty, but the portions were quite small. Afterwards when we asked the waitress if we could have coffee she was barely civil. On top of all that we were sitting near the entrance doors which are very heavy. My husband felt obliged to help guests , some elderly, who could not manage to open the doors to get in and out. Not a good lunch experience.

The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingMyself and my fiance went here last night for an overdue date night, we are so glad that this place was the place we choose to eat, 5star service all round from the moment we walked through the door, the environment is romantic and just amazing, the servers are amazing but to the point the food was just beyond amazing, we have eat out for years but this was the best meal we have ever had and is now our new favorite place, 5 out of 5 best steak in Glasgow for sure

Parrilla Argentinian Grill – EdinburghWent to Parrilla after recommendations for our Anniversary and were not disappointed. From the minute we walked in the customer service was warm and welcoming. The server went to great length explaining the cuts of meat and had a display to show them off too. The food was excellent and very good quality indeed. We will definitely be back soon. Parrilla Argentinian Grill – EdinburghFood Great- Bar Service fantastic - but really let down due to an allergy. I have a severe mushroom allergy, I added this to my booking. I love steak so had been wanting to try here for some time, and i am aware mushrooms compliment red meat very well. I love them, but they do not love me. As I always do, I again mentioned my mushroom allergy to the man taking my order. He stopped taking the order and said he had to speak to his manager, who was only a few tables away, the manager asked him if I had an epi pen? Random enough, but then came to ask me the same, I explained the allergy was severe but that not all allergies were anaphylaxis. He then said they couldnt guarantee my food would be allergy free, he advised the chef may not take the correct responsibility ( that is a direct quote), He asked what happens if i eat them and I explained I would be violenty sick numerous times until my body felt the mushrooms were gone, as this exchange was on going, the other diners were all looking over which made me very anxious, my finace explained that unless he could ensure every care would be taken for our meal we would have to leave, we had already opened a couple of bottles of wine while we were waiting for our orders to be taken, so obviously he didnt want that. The manager advised he would personally stand over the chef while my main course was being cooked so we took a level of comfort frem that. We had our starters and the whole time i could see the manager in the resaurant, ( not in the kitchen observing the chef) but assumed my main wasnt going to be cooked until my starters were finished, but no, while we were still on our starters , our mains arrived, so not only was the manager not observing the chef, our food would now have to be kept warm, changing the cooking of the steaks. We were then asked 4 times if we wanted to see the dessert menu... 4 times, in a matter of minutes, the whole experience was a complete stress, and felt like they just wanted rid of us because of the allergy. After a long debate with my fiance, the manager applied a slight discount to our bill but we were still over £100. I had heard such good things about this place but I wont be back now
