Wonderful restaurant tucked away in Stromness and well worth the visit if not staying locally. Cosy dining room that had mainly couples dining on a Friday evening but can accommodate a larger tables. A warm welcome for an early dinner. Three choices for each course. Scallops with pea mash and bacon were fresh and delicious. We could not turn down the option of the lobster, ginger & spring onion noodles, shiitake, dashi butter sauce. Perhaps just a little over done but yummy! Full enough to turn down dessert. Wine list has enough to keep me interested and the chablis was a great accompaniment to the seafood. Well priced menu in my opinion for a good dining experience and served by very attentive staff. Would not hesitate to go back and if I was based in Stromness would likely go every evening!

Lovely food and very pleasant staff. Only issue was place was so hot. We asked for air conditioning to be out up but told next table too cold. We ended up asking for food to be out in takeaway container and left early as so uncomfortable

We ate here early on a Saturday evening. The service from the enthusiast staff was excellent every bit matched by the quality of the meals. We each had a different fish main course and I had scallops to start. The presentation on the plate was very good & the taste even better. It certainly lived up to its reputation. A most enjoyable experience throughout.

Delicious meal, The staff were very friendly and efficient.. Second time we have had a meal and are planning another visit when we return on holiday in August.

Fabulous meal on Saturday evening. Fish focussed menu was excellent and food really well prepared, service was wonderful. I'd like to see one or two additional dessert choices but it was a minor detail. We'll be back as soon as we can!

I read about this restaurant I have no idea where but it was a super fabulous review so we booked it MONTHS before our trip to Orkney and it was worth the wait. Such clever dishes, so well prepared from wonderful ingredients, plus an excellent wine list, and attentive and friendly service. It was the highlight of our few days in Orkney. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

Best food to be had in the Orkneys. Delicious fresh local seafood, beautifully cooked and presented with a delicate Asian flavour. Very interesting short wine list. Unique restaurant, could not recommend it highly enough.

Service and hospitality was amazing. Starter was brilliant, haggis bon bons truly wonderful. The Mac and cheese with pancetta on the other hand was very poor. Pancetta wasn't crispy, very chewy and fatty. Overall good.

Wonderful meal and great service. Our waiter even went to the trouble of knocking up a fan for the ladies, as we were going to a show at the Kings Theatre and the weather was unbearably hot. Will definitely be back.

We were staying round the corner but only managed to book a table for our last night in Stromness. Saved the best for last! A fabulous dinner beautifully prepared and presented - delicious and highly recommend!

So very happy we had an event dinner here. From the start, the Ravelston team were amazing - prompt, friendly, communicative and super attentive to detail. Was a huge help and helped us pull off a lovely evening! Silks dining room is great and has tv, Bluetooth speakers and dimmer lights we could control, food is great and generous portions, vegetarian and gluten friendly, impeccable service, friendly staff. Would not hesitate to come here again.

This is such a great hotel. Very clean and extremely, friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was plentiful and the evening meal was excellent. Will definitely recommend and will be back. Bedroom was very clean and well appointed, ideal for a wee night away.

Four of us had a most wonderful meal on Thursday 1st July 2023. The menu catered for all our needs and the food and service was second to none. A great place with a wonderful atmosphere.

We enjoyed our meal last night. Nice to have the option to eat at 5pm with children. A characterful building in a charming location. Very friendly staff who were trying hard. We enjoyed the food and drink and only left before dessert because we had to get back to pack to go home.
