Very pleasant afternoon tea on Mother’s Day 19 March 2023

As always the Food was really delicious yesterday. I had the roast beef and it was so tender. Highly recommend the Biscoff cheesecake too! Even though it was busy staff were attentive and friendly.

Thank goodness for this restaurant in Stromness. High quality food in a very friendly atmosphere with very attentive staff. Each dish is delicious and the attention to detail on the plate is first class.

Absolutely amazing! The place is beautiful and staff are super friendly and the food is delicious. I love that you get a lot of food as well for the price. They also catered for my unusual request of plate size. I am definitely going back.

I will start with a positive, the interaction with the staff was good, they were attentive and very pleasant. The order was very simple, the haggis bon bon's were warm at best by the time my plate arrived at the table and my medium rare steak was well done. It was not worth complaining about at the time as it was edible if not what I ordered. What was a concern was the fact that staff pulled a black wheelie bin through the restaurant while I was eating my dinner which cannot be hygienic and look's totally unprofessional.

Had an excellent meal at the Hamnavoe on Saturday. Service good & meal delicious & everything had an unusual twist. I went for the vegetarian options which were lovely. Tempura aubergine with a spicy dip, & spinach & rocket ravioli with chestnuts & mushrooms & a really subtle sauce with I think fennel. Desserts were a rich chocolate mousse & a honey & lemon polenta cake. It was our second visit and won't be our last.

We had a wonderful meal at Hamnavoe . Delicious well considered menu beautifully cooked . The restaurant is a great size giving lots of atmosphere but cosy. The service was particularly good friendly , cheerful and relaxed. We were so pleased to be able to go on the last night of our holiday , our meal really topped off our stay in beautiful Orkney .

Was at golden lion on Friday 17th March for family meal for husbands 70th birthday food and serving was excellent

Had a wonderful meal on Saturday night. The waitress in attendance was lovely and nothing was a bother to her which was a refreshing change to some places we've eaten. Will definitely return soon.

We had a 2 course evening meal in the restaurant. Tremendous food, best meal in a long time, fantastic attentive service . Lovely staff. We will definitely visit again. Highly recommend. Delicious!

As a regular diner I have found the staff polite and extremely pleasant. The quality of the food is excellent and reasonably priced. On my recent visit (Sat 12 March 2023) the normally peaceful atmosphere was interrupted by a rather noisy group celebrating a birthday. That apart, still had a pleasant evening. Would recommend the Ravelston Hotel.

Visited on a Sunday evening. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the good was really good. The bull was very reasonable for what we had.

Our party of four had a great night out, enjoying pre and post dinner drinks at the Ravelston House Hotel in Musselburgh, and dinner at the Furlongs Restaurant. We had scallops, tempura prawns, Japanese chicken and calamari for starters which were fresh, well cooked and delicious. For mains, we enjoyed cod, steak pie, scampi and Balmoral chicken. The presentation was excellent, our food was hot, tasty, freshly prepared. The meat was tender and the batter crispy. Portion size was just right with vegetables included. The Balmoral chicken was awesome: succulent breast stuffed with haggis served with vegetables, potatoes in a creamy sauce. It was a wonderful atmosphere and ambience and the staff were lovely too.

First time coming here. Food and service was amazing. Only thing I could be negative about was restaurant was cold. Definitely be back again.

Lovely restaurant with an extensive menu. Food was cooked to perfection with large portions. The staff were uber friendly.

Absolutely fantastic Great relaxed atmosphere and really helpful staff.kitchen staff including the chef delifer the mains and are genuinely interested.beautifully cooked and a simple menu makes this a restaurant not to miss. Sadly we were there I the winter and its only open Friday and Saturday otherwise we would have eaten there every night. Don't miss going
