absolutely fabulous night out. food is great and service just as good. plus you don't need a loan to eat there!!

Esteban Mediterranean Tapas – Aigburth

The food is excellent; I recommend the fish dishes! I regularly eat at various places in Lark Lane and I would have to say this is the most expensive, but you pay for the quality of the food and pleasant surroundings.

Chilli Banana – Aigburth

Main courses are a little pricey though the light bites/starters along with a side dish are the size of a main at a fraction of the cost. They have a good selection of beers and the atmos is cosy.

I always enjoy meals at Esteban, the service is friendly and the food is great - with a wide range of dishes to choose from. I eat with my girlfriend regularly and the price ranges from around £34 to £40 - including drinks and dessert.

I feel that Marantos' menu is too expensive for what they provide; which is essentially pub food. The service is always very good and the surroundings are pleasant.

28/2/07 This is my 5th time at the chilli banana and i'm going again next week as i absolutely love the place. The food is to die for, the staff are lovely always very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant itself is very stylish and comfortable at the same time.. Each time i have been i have taken different friends with me and they all love the place. I would recommend it anyone and everyone

First time at the Chilli Banana, will be going again soon. Food and the service were excellent. Could not be faulted, except that we had to ask twice for the bill!!

I've been here a few times and I've always loved it (although why the kept the name of an awful mexican on the same site before I've no idea! It kept me off going for ages!) The food is excellent and the service fantastic. I am vegan and they will have no problem altering the meals to suit your dietary requirements. Nothing seems to be too much bother. And the beer and wine list is fantastic, far above the average. For a full meal or just a drink and some starters it never lets you down.

We went on a Wednesday night & the place was packed. The food was excellent and the service efficient but not too in your face. looking forward to going again.

Try the Sakara just once and you to will be singing its praises here! Pleasant air-conditioned surroundings, great food with plenty of variety and flavour, efficient friendly staff not obtrusive but there when you need them, a dedicated chef and plenty of off road parking. Don't go on Tuesdays or Thursdays...that's when we go (wouldn't like the place to get packed out with hungry strangers).

For years Lark Lane has waited for an Indian Restaurant. When one arrives it is absolutely superb. The food is brilliant. They do not rush you out, they just leave you to it. You can stay all night if you want. Excellent Restaurant.

We picked this restaurant because of the other reader reviews, and they are fully justified! It is very good indeed. Food is cooked with fresh herbs and spices, the portions are generous, and the service friendly and knowledgeable. The Goan Green Chicken is highly recommended. And we agree that the chutneys are excellent - the tamarind one is a must-try!

the food and ambience at Sakara alone should make it one of the top restaurants in the area.. the decor of beautiful dark wood floors and orange beaded lighting made me feel I was in Turkey or Morocco and the tapas of gorgeous food from around was delicious.. wonderful flavours in unexpected combinations

An absolutely brilliant place to chill out with friends. Chris was in his element as owner manager and genuinely loves his work. The bar selection is impressive and well run by Claire and Cora. The food choices are amazing and chef Mark an asset to the establishment.

We live 5 minutes walk away and have enjoyed its unusual food and atmosphere since it opened. We?e come as a couple, brought friends for a quiet meal and even had a raucous night with a party from work. Every time, we have been treated to a welcoming, sophisticated, non intrusive atmosphere with a wide choice of tasty dishes. One comment on the works night out was ? have never had such a wide variety of tastes in one meal? Our recent favourites are the Oriental Lamb Cutlets (juicy lamb cutlets on egg noodles), the Seabass served with kedgeree style rice and Khamuns Mushrooms is a savoury dish of mushrooms in a birds nest contraption made of potatoes. The menu changes occasionally and we miss the Seared Steak with Sugar Snap peas (it was not for the squeamish - the steak was mouth wateringly red in the middle). Service is good and on the occasions we've waited we have been kept informed. I would recommend this place for those who want a regular restaurant or for those who like to notch up ?nteresting restaurants they have tried?

We have eaten here on several occasions, most recently New Years Eve, cannot recommend it highly enough. Food is always to the highest quality, as is the service. The restaurant itself is nicely set out, not smoky, clean and very smartly decorated. Children are also very welcome and catered for.

Red Fort – Aigburth
Kate

The best Indian restaurant in Liverpool. There are loads of chutneys that come with the free popadoms and they are all amazing.

Light Of Bengal – Aigburth
Devereux

The best restaurant in Aigburth. A real untapped resource in Liverpool.
