The Victoria Inn – BarmouthLovely Sunday lunch...loads of meat...really tasty...
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthEnjoyed speedy service and good pub food on a stay in the area. As jubilee weekend it was very busy but the staff coped. Of note though, was the young staff clearing the tables swiftly and cleaning and making sure everything ready for the next clients. Very polite and often overlooked. Well done to them.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthFirst time back since Covid. I thought the food was nice we had steak pie but please use fresh peas. Also we were not told there were specials or that there would be an hours wait. The queue at the bar was huge. Seemed very understaffed. Needs a manager around. We ordered our pudding before finishing the main never arrived. After waiting over an hour for a piece of cheesecake and profiteroles we asked for a refund. Very disappointed as we loved it there.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthParty of 6 dined 29/5/22 lunchtime. Excellent Sunday roast, the pork and beef on offer were carved off a joint and were very good as we're the vegetables. The meat burger chosen by one of our party was said to be very good. The vegetarian/vegan burgers seemed to be enjoyed by two of our party as well. A separate veg/vegan menu of approx 10 items is available on request. Booking is advisable as it's popular in the weekend afternoons and evenings during the week. Looking forward to a repeat visit.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthThe Victoria Inn at Llanbedr is one of the nearest places for visitors to eat outside Harlech. Crowded on a midweek evening and impersonal gastropub with a policy of allowing customers' dogs in the dining area. Essential to book an evening table. May not be as busy at lunchtime. Pub fare with excellent lamb shank falling off the bone but a fish dish was rather dry. Llanbedr has an alternative in the Ty Mawr Hotel 100 metres down the road.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthBooked a table at short notice after a quick online search. 1st night of our weekend break. Food was beautiful my son had the jerk burger and said his taste buds were popping. Price of food was well worth the quality and quantity would definitely visit again when back in the area. Highly recommend.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthEnjoyed a lovely evening meal at Victoria Inn during a short stay in the area. It is in a wonderful setting with warm and welcoming staff. Good food. Large portions..we struggled to finish no problem if you have a good appetite! Highly recommend a visit, not a nice menu choice but that helps you focus on choosing something quickly! A lovely meal in a beautiful part of Wales!
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthFantastic. Great food I had a burger, best I've had I'm going to go there again even though its far from where I live just to try their steaks!
The Anchor Restaurant – BarmouthThis is such a lovely place to eat drink and meet people. The staff are so friendly, the environment is relaxing with a natural spring, the food is spot on and on Tuesday evenings there is live local music. Can't wait to go again :-D
The Last Inn – BarmouthWe have been visiting Barmouth for years and have eaten in most restaurants.Visited Captains Table last evening -and will certainly not be visiting again!Food is very over-priced for what it is, portions were not what you would expect and distinctly lacked atmosphere.Didn't start well when given menu - which was covered in some form of sticky substance! We were not alone in our thinking - one couple left after just 15 minutes - say no more!
The Captains Table – BarmouthMy partner and I went to this pub with our 3month old baby and to be honest were rather disgusted by the attitude of the staff. Our baby needed feeding and they refused to provide warm/hot water in order for us to heat a bottle of milk, they were rude when we asked and quite frankly were not much of a family pub. My partner then asked for a cup of tea, but they once again refused to provide one saying that they do not serve tea or coffee, yet they had facilities to do so in the dining area! We finished our meal quickly which by the way was equally as dreadful as the service. I would not recommend this pub in any way, staff are arrogant especially the proprietor, the food was over priced, far too expensive and also microwaved and it's a bit of a shabby pub too.

Ysgethin Inn – Barmouthit almost seems that we were at a different captains Table in Barmouth to other reviews that we've seen, as we were served by one of the joint owners who was anything but friendly. there was virtually no-one else in the premises when as a party of five we called in. Surly attitude, drinks handled by the rims and dried up oven chips, quite nasty! When I quietly complained after the meal, she was sarcastic and actually insulting. Their website states many years of experience in the catering industry, yet she doesn't even know how to handle drinks glasses! More like a cafe than a restaurant, though with restaurant prices. Decor sparse and uninviting and mediocre food. Enter at your peril - definitely not recommended.
The Captains Table – BarmouthFood over-priced, poor quality & rude customer service when took an inedible meal back. We certainly won't be going back and don't recommend.
Cadwgan Hotel – BarmouthVisited Barmouth with my family last week end ate in here on one of the evenings - was very impressed, had great choice on childrens menu - not just "something" & Chips. Also large variety of choices on A La Carte Menu. The Service was excellent, with the waitress trying to amuse my youngest child even though she was very busy. Have been visiting Barmouth for years & can honestly say this was one of the best meals I have ever had. Will definitely return.
The Captains Table – Barmouthcrap food, awful service will not be visiting again
