Ate at San Carlo again at the weekend and thought to myself as a regular Sugarvine user that I must come on here to write a recommendation for it! My partner and I regularly go to restaurants in town and San Carlo is the restaurant we revisit the most. The service, food and wine are, as always, absolutely excellent. The effort put in to creating the dishes is visible when the food is put in front of you. All meals are presented delightfully, something that I as a diner appreciates and San Carlo as restaurateurs clearly recognise the value of. We’re always quite adventurous with the wine list and again must compliment San Carlo for a diligent selection of wines. So, I hope this is a shining endorsement for those who are yet to be acquainted with San Carlo, I truly can’t recommend it enough.

very tasty and great food..halal Chinese and also indian/pakistani cuisine,great decor,great position on main highgate rd off startford rd...more chinese dishes than normal chinese restaurants!

Dining Date: 07 April 2009 Initially its a very daunting place to be, but once you get used to the way it works, Jimmy Spices is a great night out. On arriving the staff are attentive and seat you quickly, drinks orders are taken and then you're off. There is such a choice of food that you just don't know where to start and first you pile up your plate, however, you learn and realise you can take your time. The starters are great, the mains are fantastic and the noodle bar chefs are friendly and make your dish to order just as you like it, spicy etc.... Don't get me started on the dessert choice, as I would've paid just for the desserts. This is a totally value for money restaurant, very child friendly, full of choice and variety. Five Star recommendation p.s Just don't ask for a doggy bag, hehehehe

I visit a friend once or twice a year, he lives locally. We always go here,been here maybe 10 times now, excellent meals every time, I enjoy the fish tikka as a main course though it's on the starter menu.sublime.Not too oily as many Indian meals can be.The staff recognise us even when we go so infrequently.I'd go more if I didn't live so far away!

I'm a frequent visitor to Bangla either for eat in or collection. The price is very reasonable and even cheaper if you get a collection. The food is of a high quality and the service is always friendly. My favourites are hot n spicy lamb and lamb tikka pathia.

I definitely recommend this place, a lovely atmosphere, a mixture of food, Indian/italian, everybody leaves happy, the service is great and the restaurant is well kept and very clean, its never packed due to not many people know about it, very good place to eat

We visited your restaurant on Friday the 27th of March 09 , We was very let down by the service that we received from the waiter who served us that evening. He `s mister meaner seem to be very arrogant :-( our dinner plates where literally thrown, The waiters spectacles where dripping with perspiration which we found very off putting. We are in the hospitality trade our self`s , Me and my wife dine out 3/4 times a week , We have never had such absolute atrocious service all our years dining out.

wow just moved to the area and have found an amazing clean and friendly great fish and chip shop on raddlebarn rd. the staff are welcoming and polite fish was white, fresh and a really good size. the chips were delish. I'll definitely be making this my regular.

WARNING WARNING The food wasn't bad UNTIL we found GLASS in my wife's dish. The manager dealt with this issue disgracefully, refusing the waive the entire bill. The GLASS was found within the salad which had been distributed between all four of us. Please be warned, the management could not comprehend the seriousness of this incident, nor did he show any remorse.

we came there as a family me and my wife and two kids .the service was ok but found i was rushed to order .and as soon as we finished our meals the plate where gone. apart from that it was ok.

hi, i have been about twenty times, and every time its excellent.the food is amazing, well presented and filling.service is great, not to 'in your face' but waiters are attentive, pleasant and offer friendly advice on meals.you CANT go wrong in here. i will advice you to book in advance, as people queue up outside to wait for tables. the steak is recommended- melts in you mouth mmmm.!

Every time I fancy a Chinese meal while I'm around town the only place I think of is China Red, it's decorated very nicely with traditional chinese themes and the staff, all of whom are chinese nationals, is very friendly and helpful. The food is very tasty and always hot with a choice from the menu or the all you can eat lunch buffet. Fantastic value, fantastic food, great place to eat. I highly recommend it

OK said the wife lets try the hobs meadow ! her friend said its been done up and the food is good haven't been there for 10 or more years we live done the road all we here fight every weekend and full of down and outs !! looks busy car park busy what a shock !! lovely pleasant staff warm welcome beer nice lots of choice. ordered food the steak and eggs was excellent and my wife had the fish served within 10 mins hot fresh the barmaid was friendly and ask us if we enjoyed our meal she told us that they have a quiz every Wednesday and pub idol starting soon and live music on Saturdays so we went back on sat 7th march had a very nice meal again and stayed to watch the band what a great night we had will be coming here more and more mothers day menu looks good am bringing the wife and kids we had a roast dinner there today i had the lamb and the wife had beef i will eat here all the time now great place so try it out i cant believe this pub has been here and we have passed it every day without trying it out i will be telling all my friends about this place.

Great restaurant, great food, great service, totally disappointed with the table we were given, placed at a round pub style table which was very wobbly & was squashed between 2 very large tables which soon became occupied so wasn't able to talk to my partner without shouting , spoilt the evening...seemed like bums mean more than comfort...shame. Would recommend and will go again but will ask for a better seating area. Reasonably price for the quality and quantity served.

Have been to lunch twice at this place this week as working opposite and its one of the friendliest places i have come across when on business in Birmingham. The bar has a great buzz (and a great steak sandwich!) and the restaurant is lovely with a top value offer of 14.50 for two courses.

I've a wonderful meal last saturday with my family of 6. What is really impressed was they always kept their standard so well & the staff are so polite. Well Done, Woks Hall
