This Is Bedders – Birmingham City CentreThis is a great Italian and i would recommend it to anyone looking for great food and good prices! If you want to eat on a weekend i would recommend booking as every visit i've made the place has been full. Bring your own alcohol keeps the price very reasonable. 10 out of 10.
Ponte Di Legno – MoseleyThey do some delicious chicken tikka massala. Try it, its wicked
Saleem Bagh Balti Cuisine – KnowleThe atmosphere and food at this place is amazing!! Friendly and efficient service as we watched the football on big wide screen TV's eating our mixed grills.
Desi 2 – SandwellThis restaurant was very lovely from the inside, the decorations were all very good so was the food, but the only downfall was the price, quite pricey for my liking.
Shimla Pinks – Birmingham City CentreI went there on a Saturday night with a group of friends, arriving around 7pm. It wasn't that busy when we arrived, but soon filled up, as it is very small. The food, (though we only had mains), was lovely - I had the Vegetarian Couscous, which was beautifully presented. We had to wait quite a long time, but this was probably due to the fact that there were about 20 of us, and they wanted us all to eat at the same time. The highlight of the evening was when a belly dancer came and danced in between the tables. She invited us all to get up and join in, which was really fun, though slightly embarrassing as none of us could belly dance to save our lives!
Zagora – Birmingham City CentreSimple style of restaurant, nothing too flashy. Very friendly family-feel service. Price - a little more than we had expected, but no complaints about the food. One gripe - restaurant doesn't serve wine, which is fine, but then charges £1.50 corkage when you bring your own. Hmm.
Gian Carlo’s – Hall GreenLocal Chinese restaurant tucked away on the fringe of the city centre. Very good food cooked fresh and brought to your table. I went with an Australian friend and he commented that it was the best Chinese meal that he ever had! Definitely recommended.
Rainbow Cantonese Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreNothing in China is as good as this place. Need I say more. Expensive but the best
Buffet Island – ErdingtonMy little boy won't eat Chinese food because he doesn't like the taste but cooking his own food meant he eat it all. And went back for seconds!
Dragon BBQ – EdgbastonFantastic indian restaurant, fantastic food (will even make you a dish thats not on the menu!), fab waiters & manager who seemed to speak to everyone! What more can I say other than it beats any other Indian restaurant for miles around. Can highly recommend to you all
Shades Of Raj – SolihullFound it to be very friendly and relaxing on a Sunday afternoon. The roast dinner was good with plenty of meat and the Beef and Guinness pie was excellent. The beer was also very good.
Farmer Johns – Sutton ColdfieldA lovely small place to eat. vary tasty food make a nice change from normal kebabs you get. Seating was a bit tight. Very nice naan breads.
Shiraz – EdgbastonExcellent restaurant ! Great food served by happy team of people -- intimate and quite a find really -- don't miss the Moroccan Mint Tea after your meal :-) Bring own alcohol and enjoy fab lamb, chicken or fish / seafood dishes served as a Tagine dish or a typical Moroccan meal with taste in abundance !
La Fibule – MoseleyExcellent size portions, hearty well made meals with lots of options. Good prices and nice setting, especially in the summer. Advise visiting here more so than those chain restaurants for that little bit extra.
The Black Boy – KnowleHaving been there several times, I recommend it to anyone who enjoys Indian food. Overall 10/10
Jilabi Indian Restaurant – SheldonI never tire of going to b/island...and I? still surprised at the variety of food on offer...it? an excellent place to relax with friends over delicious food... Jeannie Erdington
Buffet Island – ErdingtonSunday 12th November 2006 The Warehouse Cafe is now "Open All Hours" - 7 day a week for lunch / afternoon and every evening except Sunday. It's literally 5 minutes walk from Selfridges (under the railway arches and turn right), and now it's open more days I think I'll be eating there much more often. We shared starters of whole bulb of roast garlic with cream cheese, various pates and some falafel, accompanied by bread. For main I had a hazelnut and mushroom nut roast with an apricot stuffing, accompanied by roast veg. It was all very very tasty! Plus, it's bring your own, so we had a very nice bottle of red, which would have cost a fortune anywhere else. For sweet, we shared an extremely chocolately chocolate and raspberry torte-thingy, with coffees. Total cost for 3 starters, 4 mains plus 1 desert and coffee - about 12 quid a head! It's worth noting that it changed hands about a year ago and the food is now superb plus the service has improved. Fri 24th March 2006 Ate at the Warehouse Cafe, from their evening specials menu this time. As a starter I had very nice slow roasted garlic with cream cheese (vegan or cow) as a starter - hmmmm. You get the whole bulb, about a dozen cloves, with the top sliced off and slowly roasted until the flesh is soft and light brown and delicious. Followed up with Gado Gado, an Indonesian salad of bean sprouts, red pepper, white radish and carrot strips, with spicy peanut sauce and crispy fried tofu. Loved that sauce! I managed to squeeze in a sweet of gooey but tasty pear and apply tart thingy, while my companions tucked into an ice cream bombe with cherries and a rich dark chocolate sauce. Sat 17th September 2005 Ate at the Warehouse Café for the 1st time since it changed ownership. Had a very tasty feta and spinach pie with a hint of tarragon accompanied by carefully balanced salads, each with it's own distinctive flavour including a light but flavoursome rice salad with a hint of sesame, thinly sliced red cabbage with orange juice. I'm certainly going back again.
