I was really looking forward to a nice Saturday evening and good food. When the food came, the meat was very rubbery and the rice was over cooked. We didn’t have any cutlery or napkins until we asked. At the end when we paid, the staff asked us how we wanted to pay, I said cash, so they got the manager. My partner said she wanted to pay by card and we apologized and said can we pay by card instead. The manager said, I’d prefer cash. We asked if it was a problem, to which he threw the card machine down and went off in a huff. Will not be going back anytime soon! Probably a reason that the place was empty!

We couldn't fault the food or the service, due to it being extremely busy at the time, was a bit disappointed at the time has we had to sit at two different tables, even though I had booked a table for eight earlier in the day, for 8 people, they couldn't apologise enough, would still go back though has the food was smashing

Good food, great price and excellent service

Lovely lunchtime meal, with friends great food great company. Never had a bad meal have recommended lots of friends and they to have taken friends. Keep up the good work well done

The staff was very polite and helpful and the food was lovely the meat in the steak pie had large pieces of steak and was very tender

If you want excellent service good food at a reasonable price the Vine at Clent is our choice. We have been a number of times and it has never disappointed. The young man who looked after us was attentive from the start. When asked if they had disabled access he straight away open the fire exit for our wheelchair user. Even the piped music was to our liking. Overall a super lunch thank you we’ll be back.

Beautiful meal and service just wished there had been a little more meat

Absolutely fantastic food, ambiance and wine. Service was 2nd to none. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we’re made to feel special. Thank you and we can’t wait to make an excuse to return

Booked table for 7,30 with friends a get together after 6 months wait, table was ready welcome was very pleasant and friendly. did not give you chance to sit down before they were asking what you wanted to drink. We ordered drinks and then started looking at menu again within minutes they were up with their ordering tablet asking if we were ready, felt rushed so ordered the 4 meals, there was only 2 more couples on the tables eating so they were not really rushed off their feet. Meals came within about 12 minutes 3 looked good but I knew mine was not going to be good. I ordered cod triple cooked chips with mushy peas. the batter was so hard and crispy the fish inside was overcooked even when I got to the thicker end the fish was dry tasteless and the batter hard, even the chips were hard and crispy overcooked like they had gone cold and then recooked same as the fish, the nicest thing on the plate was the tarter sauce, I do not like complaining so just battled on and ate what i could . the other 3 meals were very good and friends enjoyed them. Anyway poor choice for me ,we had a few more drinks, then paid the bill , As we were leaving Lee one of the waiters asked if everything was alright I did have to mention about the fish and chips not being very good and for the price I was shocked, He did apologise to us and said we should of said something. I dont like complaining especially as we waited so long for our get together I did not want to ruin our conversation and the atmosphere we have when we get together.Really I should of said something as what I had was really the worst food I have had at the Old Crown Lentons Lane.

lovely restaurant food was gorgeous, from starters to sweets...service impeccable .....highly recommend good value for money

Excellent food. Pub was very quiet but we went midweek so that’s to be expected.
