Me and my wife got to know about this after we saw it on The Gordon Ramsey show. We are not vegetarians but we thought it would be good to try Prashad. I can say categorically we made the right choice, the service by the young guy was first class as was the food. me and my wife had the Special thali option and we thought the dish was presented well, all on one big platter. I would recommend as a starter the stuffed pepper filled with spicy mash potato. Oh i forgot the way the poppadoms come served is excellent. With a tip i paid £40 for a 3 course meal with drinks, definitely worth the 110 mile round trip, and we shall be going again.

This is not just Indian food - it is a taste adventure! In addition, the careful attention and homely welcome leave you feeling like you've stepped into another world - one much nicer than the one we live in. If Prashad doesn't win the title of Ramsay's Best Restaurant, there's no justice! Good luck on the 9th November!

Saw this place on Ramsey's best restaurants and being both a veggie and a massive fan of indian food I had to try it. Prashad does not disappoint, the service is wonderful, from calling up and booking to the moment you leave, it's very personable and relaxed. The food is stunning, I went with two friends and we shared everything we ordered, it was all beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and perfectly balanced flavour-wise. This will definitely not be my last visit and I will be taking any friends who come up to stay as it's only 20 minutes from where I live and parking was easy too. HIGHLY recommended!

One of our party was a committed meat eater and he certainly did not feel short-changed at Prashad. We went on Bobby's menu recommendations and were not disappointed. As a London girl who has visited the top Indian restaurants around the city I can tell you Prashad knocks spots off any of them! Don't tell the southerners!

I follow a vegan diet and it is notoriously difficult to find half decent food whilst dining out. But not at Prashad! The food is fantastic and the service exceptional. What a friendly bunch! I defy anyone to go to Prashad and not enjoy it. I felt as though I was dining at a top Michelin restaurant with the quality of the food. Everyone at our table felt the same - and they are meat-eaters. This food will suit everyone, I can guarantee it. I can't believe my luck in discovering Prashad - AND I HAD NO IDEA THEY HAD BEEN ON THE T.V.!

We have just had a two week holiday 'at home' and have spent most of this time eating and drinking our way around Northern England! During this time we have covered most types of cuisine at highly recommended venues, including an excellent Michelin starred restaurant. Today at Prashad has been a massive highlight. The food was absolutely divine; we began with Poppadoms accompanied with a wonderful mixed pickle tray, and then took the recommendation of the mixed starter and special chaat (this being one of the most fantastic starter dishes we have ever tasted – don’t miss it!). For the main course we shared the Massala Dosa and Chole with Kichdi, both dishes being absolutely superb. The service was also beyond what you will find in 99% of restaurants, efficient and extremely knowledgeable but with an easy and friendly manner making this a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Kaushy coming out to talk to us and to see if we had enjoyed the food just topped it off when we thought it couldn’t have got any better! We live near to Chester and the 140 mile round trip was worth every minute spent travelling. Our only regret is that we don’t live close enough to be able to go back tomorrow! Don’t hesitate to check out this gem, my Husband is not vegetarian and has now said he may have been spoilt for wanting to eat anywhere else. Thanks to all at The Prashad for a fantastic experience, we will be back!

Just returned from having had lunch at Prashad and felt compelled to write a review. From start to finish the whole experience was wonderful. The staff are so warm and welcoming. We had a great chat with one of the owners who was really interested in us and where we'd come from (Teesside) and was very keen to know how we had enjoyed the food. Well our reply was 'we loved it'. Can honestly say its the best Indian food we've ever tasted. It was so light and fresh, not like the usual heavy Indian fare you generally get served in the majority of curry houses. There was no sign of that oily film you see on most curries when they arrive at the table and the papadums were so crisp and dry with no hint of grease to be found. We shared the mixed platter to start with which gives you a real good mix of the individual starters on offer and needless to say they were fabulous. We then moved on to mains of massala dosa and a renghan and pea curry. The spicing and heat in both dishes was just right. With food this tasty who needs meat, it certainly wasn't missed by either of us. As a sign of how much we enjoyed the food, we ordered in the premises across the road a takeaway to remind us of how this kind of food really should be served and while we were there met Kaushy herself. This lady was as lovely as her food and we really enjoyed hearing about how she started the business up and what their plans are for the future. So don't take our word for it go yourselves and experience this wonderful restaurant, you really won't be disappointed.

What a fabulous little gem of a restaurant this is tucked away in Bradford. It's a very small place with seating for just 22 people so booking is essential. Turn up without a booking and you will be turned away! And you will miss some of the most stunning Indian food in the country. The family who own the restaurant say they cook from the heart and it is plain by the subtle and wonderful tasting food to see why they make that claim! Their menu is so different from any other "curry house" and they have a choice of "roadside snacks" like you would find on street corners in India. Recommended dishes are the Mixed Starter, Special Chaat, Potato Bataka, Chole, Paneer Massala and their wonderful fresh Dosa's which I have never seen in any restaurant before! With the success of this restaurant on the recent Gordon Ramsay program it is packed out but the food is some of the most sumptuous, stunning and tasty Indian food you will eat and the service and attention from the staff second to none! The cook even comes out for a chat to see if everything is okay and you have enjoyed the food. Don't take my word for it, get yourselves down and give it a try! A wonderful experience!

This hotel does not offer a early bird menu, partner had mixed grill which came out part raw, i had stroganoff which tasted like a korma. It was very expensive and the service was rubbish.

Lovely food. The bed was excellent, best ever, but could you give me the name etc. of the pillows please? I have bought lots and lots of pillows but never found any as perfect as those I slept on in your accommodation on 16th. October. I was with the Salvation Army Disabled people Group. God bless, Jeanny.

Having seen the Gordan Ramsey programme some weeks ago, we finally found time to visit this superb restaurant lunchtime today. We are extremely discriminating diners (19/20 places we find disappointing) Prashad is the one in twenty, more like one in a hundred - it was impressive in every way, from the greeting by the cook, the attention to our every need by the waiter, to the food...the food is quite simply perfect: perfectly cooked, perfectly served - quite unlike any Indian food We've ever had - it was clearly made with love and passion, as if we had been personally invited to eat in their home and were their valued guests. We will be back!!! My recommendation: book ahead, and be led by the waiter - he knows his stuff!!

BRILLIANT - 10 OUT OF 10. Prashad actually exceeded our very high expectations. We were 30 mins late and unable to contact them, but even though the table had gone, they were still able to fit us in 20 minutes later. The food was fabulous, with a superb starter and main courses packed with flavour and not over-spiced. It was with the customer interaction, however, that Prashad stood out. Personal recommendations from the waiter about food which I wanted, not too hot, the chef coming out mid-meal and actually finding out if we enjoyed the food, topped with the most detailed instructions on how to get back to our hotel as we were so lost!!!! Where else would you get this level of service? Prashad manages to achieve everything which other restaurants only aspire towards.

Visited Prashad after reading good reviews online, and realised we had made a good choice when we saw the queues and how packed the place was! Cannot recommend this restaurant enough, the food was just indescribable! As a newbie vegetarian and ex-avid-meat eater, I am always interested in finding good vegetarian dishes, which offer exquisite tastes and textures without the usual, boring and unthoughtful vegetarian options you usually find in most restaurants. Of course I needn't have worried with Prashad, as being a Vegetarian Asian restaurant, their food was just mind-blowing! Every spice, flavour and texture worked perfectly together, from the starters to the main course, everything was just thoughtful, creative and delicious. The prices were fair and portions good - we definitely did not leave hungry! Even my meat-loving fiance was overwhelmed by the quality and taste of the food. So much so that, we agreed any meat would probably have played an excess part in the dish, as the existing ingredients were so perfect together already. We had the MONSTER DOSA to share, however we really needed 4 more people to share it with us! It was absolutely huge, probably about 3 foot in length and I almost fainted at the sight. Needless to say there was a lot of nervous laughter as we tackled the giant. Dinner was definitely not necessary that day! The staff were fabulous, friendly and energetic, and the ambience was great - plenty of happy, smiling faces enjoying their food just as much as we were. We could not have asked for more from a great little restaurant, and we have frequented many! "The secret to cooking good food is to cook like a mother" - I read this on a newspaper clipping on their wall, and I cannot agree with it more; well done for understanding something so true yet so often overlooked. Will definitely find the time to come again!

I travelled from Newcastle to visit this restaurant after seeing it on 'Ramsays Best Restaurant' and I must say it was worth the 3 hour train journey. The food was delicious and all the recipes unique and interesting. Each dish was as consistent as the other, and I'd definitely visit again. Alot of people are put of by the fact that it is a vegetarian restaurant, however, the food is soo full of flavour it does not need meat, in fact you forgot you are eating a vegetarian meal full stop. 10/10 !!!

Wow, just moved to the UK from Los Angeles and this was by far the best meal I have had since moving here. The food was outstanding and the service was super nice and helpful.

5 stars. No, 6 stars. 6 out of 5. Prashad does not serve meat or alcohol, 2 things I was sure I would miss when going out for a curry. But this was easily the best Indian food I've ever eaten, every bite was a taste sensation. The starter platter gives a taster of all the starters and each one is amazing. The mains are intensely flavoured, very generous in proportion, and fantastic value for money. And that's just the food. The service was 6 out of 5 also. Having arrived without a booking we were squeezed in after only 10 minutes. The waiting staff were extremely personable, courteous and knowledgable, telling us everything we needed to know about the food. It was clear that they were extremely passionate about what they were talking about. The icing on the cake was a personal table visit from the chef, sparing some time in her very busy night to ensure her guests were enjoying themselves. Overall this was not a simple evening meal, it was a real experience and a joy. My friend and I spent the rest of the evening grinning from ear to ear and talking about how amazing it was. Well done Prashad, it's easy to see why you are so successful. I would make many return visits although it is a bit far to come from Belfast!!!

We have just eaten a delicious meal at Prashad. Easily the best vegetarian meal I have eaten. I have driven past Prashad for years and could kick myself for not having visited before ! Every dish we ate tasted wonderful and the balance of spices was just right. We'll be back ......

I Love Meat!!!!!!!!

As a meat lover I was only persuaded to visit this restaurant for a friends birthday. However I am very glad that they did! The food was outstanding as was the service. If all vegetarian food tasted this good I would definitely eat it more often! I would particularly recommend the Chick pea Chole and the Bhinda dishes. I don't normally eat desserts but I thought I'd try them here and see what they were like. I would definitely have both the Carrot Cake and the Mango Shikand! Overall we thought the whole meal was amazing, needless to say we will all be going back!
