Amazing food and amazing service. Great way to spend Saturday afternoon with friends

My husband and I had a lovely time at the Olive last night - Would love to say food was great, but sadly first off they forgot our starter, so had them for seconds, with our blessing. The sad part was the grit! As the muscles were very gritty, so much so I couldn’t finish. Informed front of house but apart from being sorry that was it! Not really what I would expect from a good restaurant. This put behind us the overall food quality was very good - just front of house and maybe suppliers that need to up their game.

The food was delicious, the portions , generous and the service altogether friendly and accommodating. Will definely go again!

A lovely lunch in the sunshine

The food was fantastic and couldn’t fault the kitchen staff one bit. If the review was based on food alone then this would be 5*. However, the service was terrible. The restaurant was pretty much empty but the waitress took an incredibly long time to do anything and after waiting a while for the drinks to arrive we had to get up and ask for them as they’d been forgotten. I’d definitely go back and just hope that next time the service will be better. It’s just a shame that the service doesn’t match the level the kitchen staff are giving to the customer.

Amazing food and service throughout

Birthday Lunch for my wife along with our dog. Very friendly courteous service in the courtyard on an exceedingly hot day. Drinks bowl provided for Juno as soon as we sat down. Only slight distraction was the venue next door emptying the previous night’s empties into a bin! Food was all excellent, moules , fish and chips, cheesecake , cheeseboard. All served promptly. All in all a very nice lunch for my wife’s Birthday!!!! Thoroughly recommend. Thank You.

Lovely food and service , a real find for somewhere different

We have lunched at Rock Salt a few times since moving to this area and have always enjoyed our meals. There is a wide selection and everything is beautifully cooked. A particular favourite is the chocolate brownie dessert. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming.

Delicious food, beautifully presented and enjoyed by my friend and I. I am vegan and gluten free so great to have choices. Afterwards we had a lovely stroll around the woodland walk to see the wildlife and other animals who were there that day.

A really nice experience all around. Great food, great service and great location

We visited on Sunday morning and two of us had the big breakfast: sausages and bacon were excellent, eggs tasty and the whole meal really set us up for the day. The scrambled eggs and mushrooms served on focaccia were delicious. The mango and raspberry smoothie was also a highlight. This was our first visit and we shall return.

Another lovely brunch at Olive. Relaxing, well cooked and presented food and a friendly and polite waitress. The perfect start to a Sunday.
