Charming ‘at home’ restaurant. One of the best in Wells.

I had a lovely evening at The Olive Tree in Wells. As a long-term vegan, I have eaten at a lot of restaurants that have vegan options but they don't often make me feel that I really want to go back but I will definitely go back to The Olive Tree. I can't believe that I actually ate THREE courses! That's unheard of for me but I thought my dishes were so good that I didn't want to miss out. My only request would be, please consider offering more than vegan option for each course as it would be great to come back and be able to try different dishes - you are clearly really good at them. Thank you for cooking such tasty, beautifully-presented and internationally-inspired food.

Our lunch at The Olive Tree was excellent in all aspects: service, atmosphere and food. My wife loved the beetroot salmon for starter and the ling for main course. I selected the daily specials: the pancetta terrine for first course and scallops for main course. We shared the chocolate tart with ice cream. Everything was very tasty.

We booked Goodfellows after a family member recommended it, and we weren’t disappointed. The food place is lovely, intimate but not pretentious and the staff are super friendly. We had a lovely meal with a few glasses of wine and can’t wait to go back. The tuna sashimi is exceptional as is the steak and the duck. Thank you so much!

Simply delicious from start to finish. Wonderful flavours and beautifully presented. A very warm welcome on arrival and lovely service throughout. A lovely evening and we hope to return.

A lovely gem in the heart of Wells. This was the 2nd time we'd been here for lunch and were not disappointed. Between us we had the chicken Kiev and the special of the day, skate wing. Both were excellent, well cooked and presented. For pud we had the brioche butter pudding with marmalade ice cream and lemon panna cotta with date puré and mixed fruits - delicious! Wine can be ordered by the glass and the non alcoholic choice is also good. We've booked to come back in the evening and I'm sure the ambience of this little place will provide a cosy atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and if you want to give it a try, make sure you book as it's popular! Wells is a growing foodie hub and this lovely restaurant holds it's own amongst them.

We have eaten here a number of times and the food and service has always been great.

Welcoming ambience and staff - we ended up indulging in 3 courses - all of which were excellent. Very enjoyable evening!

Had a fabulous birthday meal with a friend the evening meal was superb and very tasty. The whole evening was faultless and we will be back again soon. Compliments to the chef!

Loved everything about the experience. Venue and decor is tasteful, service was good, food & wine were excellent. We ate at the previous Goodfellows restaurant in Wells town centre, the food was every bit as good this time but the new restaurant is a big improvement . Will definitely visit again next time we’re in Somerset.

We had a wonderful meal here for our anniversary. Everything was beautifully cooked and so tasty, the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I thoroughly recommend the Olive Tree and if we visit Wells in the future we will definitely go again.

Excellent food. Only quibble was regarding wait between finishing main course and being offered dessert.
