My fiancee and I had a lovely dinner here yesterday. It's a place we've been meaning to try for a while, and knowing that it's closing down we had to try it. We're really glad we did and are just sad we won't be able to come back!
Fishers Restaurant – CliftonVisited on my wife’s birthday and although a bitterly cold night, we enjoyed a warm welcome and a delicious meal. Lovely family run business who made us feel really welcome. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsThoroughly enjoyed our recent dinner at Goodfellows. We were a party of 4 and were particularly impressed that they were able to cope with 2 of the party having the tasting menu and 2 of us choosing from the standard menu. The service ensured that we were not left watching those on the tasting menu eat, it was very well managed. Every plate of food we had was delicious and beautifully presented. Portions are generous and, unlike a lot of other "fine dining" restaurants you do not leave feeling hungry. We felt that it represented value for money, although it is not cheap. It is a treat to eat there and should be savoured as such. We look forward to our next visit.

Fishers proves that we can - it's a cosy, friendly restaurant with excellent service, good atmosphere and, most importantly, fantastic food where the fish is the star. If you love fish and are in Bristol it has to be Fishers!

The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsVisited the olive tree for a Sunday lunch a party of 6 of us as celebrating a birthday., very comfortable pleasant restaurant food was delicious and piping hot, we had starters roast and puddings. Only criticism is that there was not enough gravy, and had no crackling with the pork. We did ask and we were kindly given crackling a a little extra gravy but want quite enough for 6 of us and didn’t want to be a nuisance and ask again.,that was the only minor fault everything else was fabulous., The vegetables and meat cooked to perfection would definitely visit again.

Goodfellows at 7B – WellsTable of 6, seated upstairs. Friendly staff. Bit of a shambles. One starter forgotten, one main completely wrong, 2 cocktails forgotten. The food was delicious. We were served by lots of different staff. Who were apologetic . The problem would appear to be they don’t have designated tables to look after so it’s all a bit chaotic, also upstairs gets forgotten. Would love to enjoy the food again but will ask for a table downstairs.

Upstairs felt a bit cold and unloved and the lighting a bit stark. That said, it is still my favourite fish restaurant. One of the other reviews mentions it may be closing, if true that might explain the feeling of being unloved, and it will be missed.
