Lovely family meal for a special occasion.

Had not been to The Pheasant for some years and found the service and the food very good. A very enjoyable evening. On a minor point, it would help if the dinner knives could be sharper. I had partridge and had to tear the meat apart rather than cut it . A minor point but I hope helpful. We would certainly eat there again.

We dined n a Saturday night and received the highest levels of service and quality that you could wish for. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the standard of the food second to none. Wine was fantastic too! Of particular note were the Cheese Fritters, Smoked Haddock Pot, Chicken and Leek Mousse and Indian Spiced Fish Pie. The steaks were cooked to perfection for all orders and superbly tender with sides seamlessly swapped to suit individual tastes. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Only thing tht would make it better would be rooms so that we can all enjoy the wine!

Excellent Sunday lunch. Really good value and delicious!

Enjoyed an exceptional lunch ,on our way to the Duxford air show. The set meal was great value for money with a delicious variety from the average pub meals usually presented.Bread and bottled water were promptly offered. Staff were welcoming and efficient.Will certainly book again when next in the area.

We were a group of four and enjoyed a superb meal on a Friday lunchtime. All the dishes were of a very high standard and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Having been delayed by an accident on the A14 the staff were understanding and patient. At no time did we feel rushed. A long and very pleasant lunch. We will definitely return.

Our 4th visit to the Pheasant and once again did not disappoint. The quality of the food is exceptional, the staff are attentive and knowledgeable. We live some distance and we'll worth the drive. 5*

It is some time since we have eaten at the Pheasant and it was a pleasant return. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and attentive. One of us had some dietary issues and that was dealt with well. A very nice experience

A fantastic meal as always

We had a dinner for 12 friends to celebrate the end of the rugby season and my birthday. It was an extremely pleasant and successful evening. Everyone was delighted with the food, the service and the ambience of the Pheasant. Excellent

Our second visit in three weeks. As before, excellent food and great, friendly service. Good value.

An absolute pleasure. Excellent in all aspects, a very well managed pub with trained staff who were all very friendly, competent and above all professional. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful evening with an excellent meal together with a very good range of quality beers and wines. Their wine list in particular is the best that I have encountered in a pub restaurant in the UK. Our first visit and, hopefully, not our last. Well done all round and thank you.

Arrived at 1-20 and had a drink in the bar / menus presented and called to table about 10 minutes later. All food courses were of the highest quality , beautifully served in a truly professional manner - not rushed but just a steady flow of courses. Our drinks order was varied but an excellent range of dinner and sweet wines to also indulge in. Suddenly it was 430 and we could not believe time had flown do quickly but enjoyably. The place is pure class and we will return / many thanks .

Always a delight to visit The Pheasant. Have brought many guests with us to an evening at The Pheasant and they all appreciated the visit. Food is not just pub grub. Well thought through and executed items on the menu. Appreciate the addition of game in season.

We have just visited for the first time, so we make no comparisons with previous management. Great location, lots of outside space that is not overlooked, very easy parking, rapid access from/to the A14 - all important features for our family meet-ups, with our party arriving from opposite ends of the dreaded A14. The weather was fabulous so we spent the whole time outdoors. Service was very helpful, thoughtful and light-touch - just right. Food on the set menu (we had lunch) was very good - not too much choice which is a good sign. Hopefully, you will feel confident enough to try some innovation /experimentation in the future, perhaps seasonally-driven. The bread was truly lovely and a real strong point. You might wish to talk-up the provenance of any really locally-sourced ingredients e.g. the venison - people like this sort of information. (To be fair, the choice of beers did seem to have an appealing local feel.) The portions are generous; no one will leave hungry. We all agreed that we wanted to repeat the experience.

Last Sunday,s lunch was really very very good. The four of us had different starters, main courses and deserts. Will return soon Best restaurant for miles around.

Last night we enjoyed another great meal at this beautiful traditional country pub. Modernised decoration but not ruined. A very large car park and an outside seating area with open views across the countryside around. A small but varied menu. Food well cooked and presented along with excellent service. On the night we visited they also had a curry menu that many people were also enjoying. As well as the restaurant area there remains a comfortable bar area. A good selection of ales, beers and other drinks. A regular dining venue for us.
