What a treat. A birthday supper made extra special by the kind and considerate attention from our hosts who went out of their way to make us feel as though the Cellar Bar was our own private party. To start with we enjoyed a couple of superbly prepared Margaritas from Emily, our skilled and charming bar-tender. Then, when suitably acclimatised to the cosy Cellar Bar, we settled down to enjoy reading through a very original and delightfully curated menu. So hard to decide what to have! My wife enjoyed a delicious Mullet main course served with delicious roasted carrots on a yoghurt bed while I had a superbly cooked medium rare beef sirloin with a generous portion (enough for 2) of perfectly prepared purple spouting broccoli with flaked almonds and yoghurt. We shared some very tasty crushed roasted potatoes. The veg alone would have sated the hungry. Both meals were served on piping hot plates which was lovely as we enjoyed the log-burner nearby. The ambience was fantastic...with rain pouring down outside we were tucked away in the warm. The wine pairings were spot on and the Tokai to finish capped off a wonderful evening. Llys Meddyg at its absolute best. Bravo!
