swan inn,set in the lovely historic village of nottage,lots of welcome from the locals,excellent food,selection of ales,and reasonable prices,well worth a visit next time you in porthcawl.

We had a meal on March 9th 2009. The setting was excellent, its a shame the meal was so poor! We complained when the chips arrived pale, greasy and only partly cooked , they tucked them away and put them back in the fryer and returned them to us.Can you believe it? Their kitchen is open plan and on full view but they obviously are unaware that they are being watched.Generally I would say it is overpriced poor quality food.

My wife and I took my mother there for lunch recently, booking well in advance and avoiding both Mother's Day and Easter to ensure that it wasn't too busy. Although we were seated quickly, the service afterwards was very slow. We were hoping for "relaxed", but felt that 45 minutes between courses was unreasonable, and we had to remind the staff that we were still there in order to get a dessert menu. The food was disappointing too; starters were pleasant but unremarkable, and the main course, described as local shoulder of lamb, may well have been this but could equally well have been another cut or even another meat, as any particular flavour came from the sauce. The potatoes, vegetables and accompanying Yorkshire pudding were described (at best) as resembling those offered at the local steak house, and (at worst) as like school dinners, for people who remember these... The desserts(home made ice cream) were good, but not the flavours told to us by the waitress, and by the time they arrived we had given up on the idea of asking for coffee. Several staff were also very unhelpful when we asked for the bill, and eventually we had to go and find someone willing to accept payment. The setting and the building itself are lovely, so it was a shame that the food and service were such a disappointment. It felt as though the business had overstretched itself...

i think that the restaurant is superb, it has an excellent view of the harbour and the lovely beach.the staff are all very very friendly and food is amazing. i give it a 9/10 very good. tell all the staff well done from michael, the little boy who comes every year.

Really nice decor and furniture. I felt that the service had deteriorated since my last visit had to wait too long between courses. The portions of food were a lot smaller and very expensive. Staff were friendly but it was obvious that they had their regulars who the provided a much more efficient service to. Won't be eating there again, waited to long for courses, small portions and expensive.

Excellent service, really nice food and a welcoming restaurant. Best Thai food that I have tasted outside of Thailand. I have visited a number of times and will definitely go back.

This is the best food ever, their Sunday lunches are absolutely fantastic, generous, fresh home cooked food. Only downside is the awful piped music from the 70's other than that A*.

I visited Oscars for the first time! I was amazed by the standard of service and the food was delightful. What a wonderful hidden hideaway, I even spotted a few celebrities...... RECOMMENDATION 10 OUT OF 10 "well done Oscars I will be back"

i have to say this is my 6th visit to the mango house now and every time I've been there its amazing I've never been in an Indian restaurant quite like it the food is amazing the staff cant do enough 4 you and I'm going there next Saturday with friends I've recommended it to. this has to be the best Indian restaurant in Cardiff and I've been to nearly all of the other ones but this 1 is very special and people if u haven't already been in here u should do top class food great service love the place to bits.

Great little wetherspoon pub, located on the main high street in ebbw vale, great value meals as standard for wetherspoon, nice selection of great tasting real ale available, keep an eye open for the the local welsh brewers featured here....i pay a visit 3 to 4 times per week for the ale, and regular lunch visits.

Nice food with a home cooked feel rather rare these day's. 10x better than these buy one get one free place's you find everywhere. A good menu with good prices

Wouldn't eat here I seen them bring out a meal previously returned as the wrong order the person had cut into the corner. They then tried to serve the exact same meal to the person on the next table!

I was very disappointed with the service at the Buck inn Pontlliw a few Sunday's ago. The food was fine but the waitresses were clearly too young as they were giggling for most of the time. I found this very intimidating!! I will not be returning there because of this and many others will probably agree with me!! Is there an age limit for teens working in pub/restaurants? Can you let me know as this type of behaviour can't be good for business surely! Thank you for your time Mary Lewis

I went last night to this restaurant and once again had a fantastic meal. £6.95 for starter, main, rice and two side dishes! Two for one on a range of drinks, and excellent, very polite service. Not to mention the after eight that is presented with the bill! I've been going to the Radhuny for many years and have never had a bad meal here. I don't think I've ever managed to finish, either, as the portions are extremely generous! Full marks, and will definitely visit again.

I'm afraid to say this is NOT a recommendation! Myself and my partner ate in chiquito's on saturday 7th march lunch time and both were taken very ill within an hour of eating! we both had severe stomach cramps and i even had to ring NHS Direct as we were so ill for advice! It seems we may have had food poisoning and its only at your Swansea restaurant we ate that day i'm afraid. MY meal was chicken skewers and I had to return my 1st meal as it came to the table cold to begin with! they did rectify the food and re-heated it for me but when i managed to remove some sauce i did notice small areas that were still red in colour! i just left my meal uneaten after discovering it but it seems i was too late i had obviously ingested some raw chicken while it was cold due to it being smothered in sauce i wouldn't have noticed! my partner ate ribs and chicken breast and was also ill but i was housebound for 2 days all day sat after the meal and Sunday i had to cancel my Sunday lunch appointment to recover as my tummy was still very sore and tender i could only drink water and NOT eat anything at all or i was omitting or tummy upset! by Monday i was better but my weekend was ruined! thank you chiquito for the raw meat thank you for making us both so ill it cost us nearly £40 to take home food poisoning and it wasn't even our faults! we have eaten there a couple of times before this date and always found the meals good and tasty but this time we are unsure whats gone wrong but there is definitely a problem with your cook! We wont bother to eat there again and indeed will avoid ALL companies that has any form of contact with chiquitos full stop! ITs appalling how we were treated even to the degree of the waiter asking me did i want a fresh meal or the old one heated up? is this how you run a business? Im disgusted and upset at the whole event and not even an apology from your head of staff for the cold meal? it was disorganized chaos there it was busy but thats no excuse for cold unhealthy meals to be served! I would formally like to thank your company for the whole weekend of my birthday being destroyed! We shall not bother you again or indeed we shall NEVER recommend you

37 years of age and I have never tasted food like the food served here, it is so good that I had my wedding reception here. I would suggest that this is the one place everyone would say nothing but good things about in regards to the food. Go there, it's amazing.

Stopped in here for lunch on a day during the week, the restaurant was pretty quiet (maybe 5 or 6 tables being used). My girlfriend and I waited about 10 minutes to be seated, while staff just walked past us without saying a word. After our starters we waited 15 minutes for our table to be cleared and our mains brought. The food was nice enough but the service is terrible there. Dont think Ill be going back.

Had a superb meal here last week. A brilliant full flavoured fish soup for me and the wife had some cured salmon declared delicious. For main courses a wonderful duck shepherd's pie and a steak with some beef cheek on the side - top cooking. Desserts were a struggle given the portion sizes but we managed a great pannacotta and some of their own ice cream. What an oasis in these parts!
