Green Bridge Inn – CarmarthenI tried this little cafe whilst in Cardiff for the weekend. I thought the food was fab, nicely presented with amazing flavours. However.. i thought a few of the staff were rude, blunt and i didn't much care for their service. I think it's a shame they let down the shop as it's a nice little business.
Sandwiched in the City – Cardiffwonderful!
Ichiban – CardiffFantastic! The food was cooked to perfection, the staff were friendly and polite, the wine list was full of choice and the atmosphere was lively! Every course was a delight we couldn't have asked for a better evening! Next time we are in Cardiff we will visit again!
La Brasserie – CardiffWhere to start. From the moment you enter the ship & castle you are made to feel welcome. The food is outstanding and of very good quality, there are a number of specials listed on boards around the restaurant area. I was going to be brave and try a man mountain of meat being there 32oz mixed grill but was glad i only had the 16oz one as that nearly beat me superb value for money also they sell decent pints at decent prices. This is a pub i would recommend to all ages
Ship and Castle, The – SwanseaPopped in for lunch on a Saturday, friendly welcoming staff cooked my sons mussels to order even though they were not on the menu. Beautiful home cooked food.
The Carne Arms – CowbridgeWent as family to Ichiban in Albany Road Cardiff for lunch this Sunday June 7, 2009, following the recommendation of a friend. As newcomers to Japanese cuisine we tried mixed sashimi and beef/pork in ginger sauce, as well as green tea and Japanese beer on draught. The sashimi was kindly prepared without salmon fish on request. Both dishes and the drinks were delicious, the restaurant tidy, the service attentive and very proper. We recommend Ichiban and will be happy to come back in the future to try more of their many excellent food choices.
Ichiban – Cardiffmy wife & i go to vivaldis on a regular basis. the food is always 1st class and the service is excellent. a warm italian welcome is guaranteed.
Vivaldi – Swanseafantastic went for food on a busy Saturday night great atmosphere friendly staff and the food was brilliant with a great selection of homemade food. Highly recommend.
Salutation Inn – CarmarthenAn excellent chef, trained at the Manor, Crickhowell. Completely fresh home-cooked produce with great vegetables and deserts to die for. A completely unexpected find. Not expensive.
Baileys Arms – Ebbw ValeNice meal, booked during half term in May, staff friendly, but on the expensive side for us. Main meal two adults two children, 3 glasses of wine, one beer and two lemonades £79.
Plantagenet House – TenbyWe visited the Shoboraj on Friday evening last, and on our arrival we were greeted by owner of the restaurant Chunu Miah and taken to our table. The restaurant is very pleasantly decorated with some fabulous oil painting of the raj polo players and other Bangladeshi paintings, a choice of well suited background music was playing, which we felt made the atmosphere in the restaurant well suited. Our starters arrived and I must say the King Prawn Butterfly was the biggest one I had ever seen, and tasted was out of this world, and served with a tarta sauce ' nice '. Once our starters had been finished we had a nice break and our main course was served a short while later. I had the Machli Biran fish and wasn't disappointed. All in all we had a great night and would like to thank all the staff at the Shoboraj and of course the Miah brothers for there superb hospitality and great night.
Shoboraj Indian Cuisine – NewportThis is a small family run pub, located in the heart of Blaenau Gwent in the former industrial town of Tredegar. The birth place of Aneurin Bevan, Neil Kinnock and Ray Reardon. This olde worlde pub is full of charm, it has traditional wooden floors and wooden booths. An ideal place to come for a friendly chat with the locals, or that special evening out with your partner, family or friends. No matter what the occasion you will always be assured of a very warm and friendly welcome by the landlords Sandra & Gwyn Lewis. The Railway, serves a wonderful variety of beers and spirits including the infamous Brains beer. The pub also boasts an extensive menu of freshly prepared home cooked food, cooked just the way you like it! at prices your pocket will like. There are promotional evenings where you can enjoy a curry and a pint for just over a fiver or treat yourself to one of their special grills, all cooked to the Railway's secret recipe. The desserts and puddings are divine, again all home made. Sunday lunch is excellent value, 3 courses for under £10 - you can beat the credit crunch here. There is a variety of entertainment to suit all, television, quizzes, pool, darts and karaoke and special theme evenings. The atmosphere during the rugby internationals is amazing. Children and pets are welcome at this pub too. Don't worry you won't have to drink and drive either, - the pub can accommodate up to 10 guests in their bed and breakfast accommodation, for just £25 per night. Why not go along and see for yourself?- you won't be disappointed, I promise.
Railway Tavern – Tredegarnice view overlooking the sea once you get past the houses., food rubbish, buffets rubbish, staff had a bad attitude! got ripped off wouldn't go there again ever!
Bar Gallois – Port TalbotGood home cooked food and very nice traditional surroundings. Warm welcome by staff well worth a visit especially with the new owners. Will definitely return
Poundffald Inn – SwanseaDo not recommend the early bird menu.If you like chicken or pasta then that's all about your choice but I chose the gammon which was only fit for the cat.I sent back the first meal as it was underdone and the replacement was just the same so home it went to the cat. As i am registered disabled I the disabled parking bays were full and I had to park near the back of the restaurant. When I returned to the car I was blocked in by a delivery lorry and has to wait 15 minutes to get out. I have written to the Manager who acknowledged my letter but after a month has still to provide an explanation of any improvements that could be made.
