Govindas Vegetarian Restaurant – Swanseawent to the rock the other night I must say the food was eclectic and brilliant,my wife had the bangers and scallion mash while I had the pan fried salmon on wild mushrooms and topped with a pomegranate sauce.I don't know who chef is but as I have said in other reviews hes a very clever boy,the wine list is terrific for a pub, and the beers and standard of friendly service was exceptional.
Rock and Fountain Inn – Monmouthbeen going to alfreds for the past three years whilst trying other restaurants in and around Cardiff. have to say by far the best place and best value and quality food. key is the food is so fresh because of the numbers achieved
Alfreds Bar and Grill – PontypriddA very good restaurant.. the take away is cheap and real value for money. there are student discounts aswell.. their dine in has plenty to choose from as same as the take away. their staff are friendly and helpful.. the food tastes very good and definitely different from other Indian restaurants and take aways.. the restaurant atmosphere is very good and totally different from other restaurants.. they have many deal days.. should try one of those... A must try restaurant in town..
Punitha’s – CardiffThis is one of the best restaurants in South Wales we eat out alot and this is one of the best. The service is excellent and the food exceptional, the interior nicely decorated and the area very pretty. The menu choice is varied and not expensive but the food would give any Michelin star restaurant a run for their money.
Red Lion Inn, The – CowbridgeOnly discovered this restaurant lately and what a find. Excellent Indonesian food very reasonably priced, accompanied with excellent service. No alcohol served so remember to take your own which is nice as its normally the alcohol that pushes the price of your night out up and you can take whatever you like so you are not limited too what wine is on the menu. I would recommend this to anyone who loves Indonesian food and if you haven't tried it before give it a go you won't regret it. One of the best.
Garuda – SwanseaExcellent have eaten there on several occasions
Lord Caradoc, The – Port TalbotAn excellent Indian restaurant. Welcoming staff, pleasant decor and food of a very high standard. In short, a delightful experience.
Vojon – SwanseaThe North Star is soon to become one of Cardiff most treasured venues. Its boutique conversion is absolutely unique and makes you feel like you are somewhere very special. The food is incredibly tasty and fresh. The staff are warm, friendly and approachable. I have truly fallen for this place, the food is amazing but not expensive, and they have loads of different live music nights, so it's always very lively in the evenings!
The North Star – CardiffAbsolutely disgusting place!!! I don't think the place has ever been cleaned by the look of it, I have seen the landlord scratch his balls, play with the dog and then serve customers pints and take out meals!!! The place stinks of dog and the meals are terrible. Would not recommend I'm afraid until they bother to buy a mop and bucket and clean the place from top to toe and get rid of that dog that is always hanging around, a place that serves food is no place for a dog!
The Farmers Arms – Newportfantastic food with a great minehost, lots of food value for my cash, staff very efficient, would recommend a visit. Mi
The Inn At Rhiwderin – NewportSunday lunch was probably the tastiest I have had in years. The flavours were superb. At £14 for two courses, it was more expensive than others in the area and probably why we were able to get a table without booking.
The White Hart Village Inn – MonmouthDo you remember the advert on television that showed the couple checking out of the hotel and were charged for seeing the sunset so they declined the bill been stapled to the credit card receipt in case they got charged for her it? Here is the restaurant equivalent!! The description is The Beech Tree Inn is a restaurant designed and priced for the times we live in. A very confusing and bland menu shows that you pay £14- 17 pound for your piece of meat and some form of potatoes and then all sauces are £1.75 on top and a small bowl of salad is £2.75, other vegetables are just as pricey so you are looking at greater that £20 per head for what was presented as a bland uninteresting meal. The starters were not much better. My children scoffed the bread that was put on the table and we were told the extra bread was another £0.95 , I felt like asking for a doggy bag to take the remaining butter with us but refrained from the temptation. Sweets are £4.95. To describe on the website to say you are saving money is disingenuous to say the least except if you go for lunch and have no extras whatsoever. Beware- you have been warned.
The Beech Tree Inn – CardiffWhat a load of Rubbish. The head waiter who took our order had very bad breath. The two skinny boys there were just perverting on the younger ladies in the restaurant and the food and service is disgusting. The waiter was literally throwing the food on our table and didn’t even seem bothered. The pricing is also very expensive. Truly this restaurant is fuckin shit
Masala – LlanelliDon’t go there whatever you do!! Went there on a Sunday and the Buffet was absolutely disgusting! There service was terrible due to the fact that there is one guy, presumably the owner running the front. The restaurant is also very cold and I had to keep my jacket on during my stay there. We had to ask the waiter for drinks and our drinks arrived late because he was attending to other people who I’m sure had the same idea as us. All in all a very bad and disgusting experience at this restaurant. I’m not surprised they are so quiet! They really need to change otherwise the consequences are dire!
Bengal Lancer – LlanelliAbsolutely fantastic value for money. Must try Chicken Tikka. Recommend any time.
Kismet Tandoori Restaurant – CardiffGreat Sunday lunch real home cooking little gem in welsh valleys try yourselves its great lived here all my life just found it out of curiosity will go back again and again
Hafodyrynys Inn – NewportThis is the best restaurant in Cardiff. My husband and I have been going there since it opened. The lunch time special is a bargain and the evening menu is to die for. The staff are amazing it is a family run restaurant I would be amazed if no one likes this restaurant
