The Last Inn – NewportThe service was very good, very attentive to our needs. The food was beautiful, we will definitely be back very soon. If your thinking about coming .. definitely do , it’s such a lovely place. good value for money and very good portion sizes.
The Last Inn – NewportAbsolutely fantastic. The staff, the food, the service…. It’s just absolutely fantastic
The Last Inn – NewportI frequently visit the last inn for an afternoon drink. The service is always polite and friendly., the atmosphere is clam and relaxed. When I have eaten here the food has been outstanding, ( lovely mushroom bruschetta ) and if I’ve ever had any issues the staff are always quick to resolve them. It’s a 10/10 for me.
The Last Inn – NewportHad a lovely atmosphere and wasn't too busy a time. My Pork was spot on but the Fettuccine was too oily. We were given the dessert menu but no one came to take the dessert order so we asked for the bill instead.
The Last Inn – NewportBeautiful food made to feel very welcome staff very friendly and the live music was a added bonus will certainly be visiting again and would highly recommend
The Last Inn – NewportWe had eaten last summer before with large family gathering. So having a child free weekend we booked a table. Ordered 2 8oz rump steak one with mash one with chips. When it arrived looked lovely however looks can be deceiving. Everything had been seasoned with lots of ground pepper and spoilt the flavour of the meat. Considering it was medium rare it was not the best. Huge amount of fat and extremely chewy. We both left a big piece meat as we found it hard work. We mentioned to the staff our disappointment at the quality of the steak we were served The only reply we had was we will pass on your comments to the chef. As a result of our comments we were not offered a desert menu… so it came to paying the bill It took for ever to sort out. I was honest and gave them details of everything it came to £39. 2 x steak at &14.50 Extra veg £4 1 pint of ship yard 1 pint of lime and soda Yet was asked if we had wine… unsure if our bill was mixed up with some one else’s. So after the highs of huge family get together last summer this experience was disappointing to say the least. Hopefully it was a one off, but it’s going to be a long before we try again. Although restrictions have more less been lifted tables where we were sat near the bar were a little too close for comfort. As for the evening entertainment we had sit for an hour listening to some fella tuning his drum … with our table more or less next to amp we left with his constant thumping ringing in our ears.

The Last Inn – NewportThis was our first visit to The Last Inn and we were so impressed, the food was amazing! I had the Roast Beef dinner and my husband Pork. The ingredients were so fresh and the gravy was to die for! We shall definitely be making a return visit. Thankyou!
The Last Inn – NewportExcellent food, well cooked, with a good choice available. Service polite and professional. We booked a table for 8 and The Last Inn works really well for us in this respect as we can all hear our conversations due to the room layout and the fact that it isn't too noisy. Top marks also for simply being kind and patient!
The Last Inn – NewportWe have been here several times recently and never been disappointed, but last night on my birthday was an exception. No ale, ordered another beer but that was also out. No dessert\coffee combos. Pork belly main course still v good, but burger's chips not so. Just hope this was a one-off bad night because we are going again next month.
The Last Inn – NewportWe had the Sunday roast. There was a good amount of meat and it was tasty, to be fair. One change I'd make would be for them to bring gravy separately ... the food came with a pool of gravy, just all a big brown slop. It would be good for people to put their own on. Mint sauce serving was tiny and veg serving for two people wasn't enough I wouldn't pay £13 odd for this again. Maybe £10 ... I would go back and try a different meal
The Inn At Rhiwderin – NewportWe had a lovely Sunday roast dinner yesterday. The restaurant was quiet but the young lady who served us had an excellent, friendly & professional manner. She was very attentive at all times. The food was beautiful, hot & proper home cooked style. We will definitely visit again. The only negative we had was that the car park had big pot holes that needed filling in & a light on the car park would help at night!
The Last Inn – NewportAfter 2 really nice experiences we were both extremely 'underwhelmed ' by our last visit. Starters were OK but the seafood basket was extremely oily and greasy and over battered, almost as though it had been put back in to reheat. The dessert menu was lacking some of the choices. Not a good experience.
The Last Inn – NewportLovely food! Best Macaroni cheese! Absolutely enjoyed my meal here, staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. A great relaxing, chilled out atmosphere. Definitely recommend.
The Last Inn – NewportCouldn’t fault this restaurant. Front of house staff were delightful and food was faultless.
The Last Inn – NewportFood is excellent and in fussy, well priced. Nice staff. Big pot hole on the car park entry caused damage to my car, wish they would just fill it in. It was the same on my last visit. Car park aside, well worth a visit for traditional good food.
The Last Inn – NewportWe booked a table for 5 people for 14.00 on New Year's Day with no problem. We were just meeting some family for a drink - not eating - which we assumed was not a problem as it doesn't say that you have to eat. We had a lovely welcome and were then shown to our table, given menus and when we informed them that we only wanted a drink we were told that was fine. However, about an hour later we were told we had to be out by 16.00 and we were rushed off our table at 15.45. The card machine was just bought to the table and then our drinks cleared before we had even finished them/left the table. The pub was not busy, we were 1 of 2 tables in the bar area! The experience started off very pleasant but we were made to feel very unwelcome because we weren't eating. I completely understand when tables have a time restriction due to being booked but we were not informed of this at any stage of our booking or when we were shown to our table which led us to think our business was not good enough for them. If you only want eaters you should mention this on your booking page.
