We went for a meal on the 19th of June having received a voucher. Upon arrival there was no pleasantries when greeted, we stood by the ‘please wait to be seated sign’ and when we stopped someone to say we had a booking they looked at us like we were fools and said go to the main bar to check in. There was one girl who didn’t serve us that seemed very nice and friendly but the person serving us forgot to bring the water that was asked for twice. As for the food the cook and quality was very poor some cold, the fish massively over cooked and a very fishy taste, as for the pizza the base was borderline raw while the crust was burnt, We were very pleased we had the voucher as it is not a meal we would have been happy to pay for

Unfortunately I cancelled my booking but went several days later for lunch and was so disappointed I cancelled my meal after it arrived with soggy / slimy white onions on my pizza when they said they were adding caramelised. When questioned( as I’m a very confident cook) they said they were caramelised. My friends ciabatta had the same slimy onions in it. Definitely not Italians as they would know how to cook .

Food ok and reasonably priced but service was very slow

I stayed in the Chester House Hotel as part of a 2 day walk in the Cotswolds and my time there was lovely. Rooms were well presented and clean. The staff were lovely and the food at both breakfast and dinner was really good, and the staff catered for my Coeliac disease requirements, which is always much appreciated. I will definitely be staying again.

We attended The Croft 2 days running for a Wonderful Outodoor brekfast for 4. Great Choice and Food was Was excellent as where the Large Cappuccino's. Staff where Excellent helpful and Friendly and Attentive to our requirements.. Fully recommended

Food was ok. Setting was nice. Greeting on arrival was non existent and no please or thank you on paying bill. Won’t be going back

The food was amazing. Sooooo delicious! And the staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed at The Chester House Hotel and ate in the restaurant on 18th May, The staff were very attentive and pleasant, we sat in the bar area for pre dinner drinks then were shown to our table. We both had prawn starters which we enjoyed, then my husband had the lasagne which he said could have done with more meat. I had the ‘special’ which was seafood risotto they brought me a huge bowlful of watery rice with bland seafood mixed through and I regretted my choice almost immediately. We did have an affogato desert which we shared can’t really go wrong with that. As it was my husbands birthday we had a nice evening other than our choices of main course. The music was Harry Styles and current due to the young staff I presume not your usual restaurant background music.

Such good and fast service, waiters were so friendly, meals were delishious 100% recomend

Food was lovely but service was awfully slow and they forgot things when we asked. We are not picky but service was poor. To top it off, an automatic 10% service charge was added. If it was my choice - I would have removed it. Shame as the food was lovely

Really good food. Our starters: meatballs & delicious polenta bread and scallop. Mains: mushroom ravioli and mussels & chips. Dessert: tart tatin. Efficient and friendly service. Good prices.

We’d booked this restaurant for my sisters birthday, but unfortunately was disappointed despite the great reviews I’d read online. Asked if we could delay our table for 30 mins and was told no as they were too busy - for the entire hour and a half we were in there no one else was there. The young server was very helpful but the food was bland and watery across all dishes. It was extremely cold in there too, even tho it was 20 degrees outside and all doors were shut, the temperature made it uncomfortable. Wouldn’t recommend or visit back again.

Unfortunately wouldn’t recommend or visit again. We had booked here for my sisters birthday and was very disappointed. We’d asked to delay our table by 30 mins and was told they were too busy - for the hour and a half we were there, there was nobody else in the restaurant. The food was bland across all the dishes we had and the room we ate in was so cold it was uncomfortable. Despite the good reviews this unfortunately wasn’t our experience. Our server however was very helpful and very friendly

Had a lovely meal in a charming restaraunt . The atmosphere was very relaxed and busy. The staff here are lovely...very friendly ..polite and helpful..would highly recommend .

Had a meal Saturday night both dishes were delicious especially my chicken dish,the Hawkstons was great.the place was busy but staff were great, especially the young lad very attentive and always busy doing something useful,it was good to see a young lad working hard.
