The Coach and Horses – CongletonWarm welcome, good food, plenty of gravy! Fantastic chocolate cheesecake! Sat in smaller area as had our dogs with us. They enjoyed being fussed over!
The Coach and Horses – CongletonWhen we walked into this beautiful little pub, we were filled with optimism, but unfortunately that all changed and the experience went from bad to worse, our booked table wasn’t even ready, so we were stood by the bar waiting, the guy that was working set the table but didn’t even inform us when it was ready he just went on to serve other people, so we took it upon ourselves to sit down which meant we were left for almost 15 minutes without even a menu between us. We eventually received menu’s and waited a further hour after ordering for our food to come, I appreciate it was Mother’s Day but there was no mention of a delay on the food. The food was also substandard. Myself and my partner had the Angus beef sirloin which according to the people responsible for pricing a £23 plate of food, having worked in kitchens as a chef I can say comprehensively that the plate we had was average and was more like a £15 plate of food, it was bland and the meat was dry. The worst thing about the whole experience though was that certain members of staff completely ignored us as they were too busy seeing to the needs of locals who were congregating round the bar having drinks. The only shining light and credit to this place was a young girl very slight in build with ginger hair, I wish I had of taken her name as she was amazing and made this experience bearable, a credit to a very poor place

The Coach and Horses – CongletonLovely home cooked food. We were eating at lunchtime and the service was very welcoming and friendly. We chose the 2 courses for £14.00 and this was excellent value for money. I had the cauliflower& cheese soup which was so tasty!! Followed by a brie and cranberry ciabatta with a side of chips which were so delicious and home cooked!! My husband had the fish and chips and our friend enjoyed the scampi. Would thoroughly recommend.
