We always have a lovely meal when we come here.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyCame for a festive picnic and even though the food we had was nice, the service was extremely slow and didn’t get everything that was listed on the festive picnic menu. It was almost as if the festive picnic and afternoon teas were mixed. On arrival, there was a picnic hamper on the table with just crackers in so became irrelevant as soon as you took out the crackers. We had soup (delicious), had a mix of sandwiches (nice, but thought it was meant to be cheese and chutney), only had 2 mince pies instead of 4. Had to ask for the brownie tree as I don’t think we would have had it if we didn’t ask. Didn’t have pigs in blankets (although had a sausage roll which I know is part of the afternoon tea order). Kids food was all deep fried making it all the same colour. As mentioned the service was very slow and it wasn’t like it was busy. If you asked for something it was as if you were ‘putting them out’ No spoons were bought to the table for puddings and teas/coffees. Disappointing as I do love the Codrington Arms.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyAmazing food we all loved it thank you.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyCame for a festive picnic. The soup was incredible absolutely delicious. The mulled wine was lovely. The sandwich’s were a bit stale and only cheese and pickle available. The pigs in blankets were very cold which made the bacon a bit chewy and the crisps were a very bland selection. The prawn cocktail jars were cute. Overall I think this could be a lot nicer if there was a bigger selection of sandwiches and nibbles. It did seem rather expensive for such simple and cheap to supply food. The service was top notch tho and the staff were very attentive.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyOnce again we had a lovely meal. The pub was very quiet on a Thursday early evening but it was very welcoming and warm and we received excellent service. We had a very relaxing time.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWe have not been out for a long, long time and it was such a treat to eat at the Codrington. We had a very friendly reception and were given just enough time to get settled and decide what we would like to drink. Likewise with ordering the food. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal which was beautifully presented, well cooked and delicious. I usually order a pudding and my husband has a coffee but we decided to share a pavlova which was plenty for the two of us. It was fantastic with lots of fresh fruit and cream - yummy. It was a quiet night but we sat in the bar and it felt very cosy. The food was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be going again.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWe booked a table for 14 with space for pushchair to celebrate my fathers 91st birthday and we’re extremely happy with the locality, food, and most of all the wonderful staff Well done Codrington Arms we will return again and again

The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyBooked for for Lunch for 20 persons for 6th November. We were surprised to find that an F A Cup match was being played at the Yate ground and unfortunately for us, the Codrington was overwhelmed by fans. The staff were under some pressure but remained pleasant and cheerful throughout Though delayed, when our food orders arrived we were grateful; the waiters did a splendid job in serving us quickly. The generous portions of food was nicely presented, hot and delicious. No complaints from anyone in our party. All together an enjoyable time and to be recommended. Thank you
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyLovely food and good service, will definitely return
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyHad a brilliant afternoon at The Cod. We took the kids for a Halloween family feast and afternoon tea and it was superb! Great portion sizes and choices. The creepy detail throughout the meal was a hit with the kids. Restaurant was fully decced out in Halloween theme and the staff were super friendly and helpful We're looking forward to coming back for more events! Brilliant place to bring the family.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWent for lunch on Saturday 29th. Invited 4 friends over from Wales. Although the food was as always delicious we were really disappointed with the service. It looked like 4 or 5 young ladies left on their own. There was a large table apart from us for afternoon tea but we were left . On more than one occasion we had to wave to get the attention of the waitress. She brought our bill and walked away yet she gave the bill to the other table stating she would be right back with the card machine. Once again we had to get the attention if the waitress to pay after giving our bill for 10 minutes. It's such a shame as I live here and wanted to show my friends what a lovely place it was. They loved the food but service was shocking
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyMe and my friend had a lovely birthday meal and staff were very friendly. No lighting in the car park in which my elderly friend tripped but luckily never fell. All in all very good.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyBoth the burger and pork chop were very good. Polite and efficient service.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWhat a gem! We’ve recently moved to the area & have already had several meals here. The menu is a little limited, but everything that we’ve eaten has been gorgeous. The clientele were friendly & the staff welcoming & helpful, nothing was to much trouble. We’re so pleased to have this pub as our new local. X
