Service was excellent as was the quality of the food.

We had seen some positive reviews regarding this pub a while back but chose a different one to attend so when at a loose end on New Year’s Day we gave it a try We were greeted by friendly accommodating staff and given menus while our drinks order was taken .. I asked what the pie of the day was and unfortunately after deciding I would like the beef and red wine option was told they had just sold the last one so opted for the spiced spinach and squash pie.. it was very tasty and a good portion but probably not what I was expecting.. almost like a curry pie.. my husband was looking forward to a burger but unfortunately this also was unavailable Although what we ate was very nice it was a bit disappointing not to be able to eat our first choice.. I can only assume due to the bank holiday that deliveries were late.. we would probably give it another try

What a gorgeous pub! The staff were helpful, polite and the service was fantastic. The food was absolutely gorgeous, when visiting again we will definitely be back!

Excellent Christmas Lunch for 18 of us. All the food was delicious and served promptly. This is a regular pub for our Annual Christmas get together and we really enjoy it. All the staff are friendly and very helpful. We will be back next year. A huge Thankyou to everyone.

Came for food with a friend last Friday and both the food and service were really good. Very cosy atmosphere inside the pub. The girls working behind the bar were all friendly and welcoming. Would definitely come back again when in the area.

Came for a Sunday roast with baby & our dog. We were more than welcomed & the service was fantastic. Lovely friendly servers who catered to everything we needed. Food was amazing , great portions. Will definitely be back. Thank you!

Yet another excellent sunday roast. Our favourite place to eat, staff are excellent and welcoming, food well absolultely awesome. The cheesecake is one of our favourites. A warm and welcoming atmosphere. Tracey and Katie are so welcoming along with the other girls. Paul and Jenna are excellent hosts. Will not go anywhere else.

A lovely warm welcome! Superb Portuguese themed menu! The food was delicious. Loved the welcome drinks too, nice touch. Staff were attentive and friendly and took a real pride in the food they were bringing to us. It just kept coming! Brilliant idea and we will certainly return to this gorgeous pub when we visit the area again!

Excellent Sunday lunch, the beef was tender and tasty , well presented yorkshire puddings I loved,all in all a lovely meal, staff very polite and helpful. Our favourite place for Sunday lunch.

We went to the Cod for Sunday lunch. The food was great, fresh cooked and very tasty. The pub has a wonderful welcoming atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and accommodating

Went to this pub for sunday lunch for the. First time.. Very nice food, nice combination of veg, and a good portion size. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Overall a lovely experience. Restaurant could do with prettying up a bit, a little open. Thankyou

First time for Sunday carvery, had been recommended by a friend. But must say very disappointed with the food , no cheese on the cauliflower cheese , roast potatoes were rubbery, not much beef only one slice with a little off cut underneath!! Didn’t think it value for money as that cost £16.95 would not return . Staff seemed rushed .

Absolutely fabulous Sunday roast, we had roast beef and turkey meals, there was loads of thick sliced meat and a lovely variety of veg. The lemon cheesecake pudding was enormous and gorgeous. Bar staff and waitress staff all very welcoming and polite, especially Katie. We will be back to sample more, thank you for a lovely afternoon.
