Thyme and Plaice – ChorleyWe spent a wonderful evening at Amelies for a frinds birthday.Staff were friendly and attentive. The food was divine, all dishes had their own "character" nothing looked the same. The sweets were fantastic even the fruit coulis on my friends said Happy Birthday. Egon Ronnay ( hope I spelled that correctly!) would be there everyday!
Amelies – ChorleyI went to seasons last weekend, the service was excellent as usual, and the food was fantastic. There was a good choice of vegetarian options on request, and the staff made an exotic cocktail and non alcoholic cocktail. Was also a nice surprise when we got the bill, excellent value!
Seasons – ChorleyVisited the Italian Cottage on a Thursday evening with three friends, looking forward to a good old goss and great food. We certainly were not disappointed by the food and the value was even better choosing from the three course "cheaper" option. However the night was ruined by anxious staff desperate to get home at 9.45, making it obvious that our time was up!! and there was me thinking Thursday was the new Friday. We ordered further drinks following our meal which was an obvious annoyance to the staff they stood around watching for any indication for us leaving. In this current climate where relying on punters that are going to spend some dosh one would think this cosy little restaurant in a back street of cosmopolitan Chorley would be eager to offer further drinks with eagerness and flair. On leaving the restaurant the a member of staff quoted on her phone " they're leaving now so come in two minutes" Well we were leaving, not to return!!!
Italian Cottage – ChorleyAnother lovely Saturday lunch at The Beaumont. Always a friendly welcome and extensive choice of food.
The Beaumont – ChorleyI frequent this restaurant with my family & friends. On every occasion we all have had an enjoyable time. The food is consistently excellent, full of flavour, presented well & freshly cooked. I look forward to going there at every opportunity.
The Hyatt – ChorleyI visited the Italian Cottage, with friends on the 19th January. I found the vegetarian options very appealing, the meal tasty and the service great. I went back to the Italian Cottage last night, 26th January, with my partner. As we sat waiting for our meal, my partners mobile phone rang. This was a business call, not personal and he kept the call brief. In disbelief, the lady that we believe to be the manager came over to our table and in a loud, condescending tone told, did not ask, my partner to turn his phone onto silent. We were so embarrassed. My partner almost walked out, but we stayed for our meal. My partner asked if they would cook his meal again because it was too salty, the staff said that it was too salty because my partner had put too much Parmesan cheese on it!! I work for LCC, all my work colleagues carry mobiles for business purposes and I will be advising them very strongly not to eat at this restaurant!
Italian Cottage – ChorleyWe chose Amelie's for my step-son Bob's 50th birthday lunch. Our visit proved to be a superb experience in living and dining. It seemed we had stepped back to a more refined era. The experience is that of dining in one of those large private homes of yesteryear and we appreciated the vast attention to detail. The staff have a warm greeting. The service was unhurried and the food was never less than magnificent. At Amelie's we felt we were in a totally different, totally unhurried world and the verdict of the birthday boy was " the best meals in years." We all agreed that this fine restaurant is a treasure.
Amelies – ChorleyWe ate at Italian Cottage on Fri 14th Jan, Thoroughly enjoyed it, the food was excellent and the waiting on staff were very friendly. If I had to pick one negative the only thing I can think of is, there is no waiting area so if your table is not ready, your stood about, but our table was ready, it was very busy and we will def be going again.
Italian Cottage – ChorleyThis is a fabulous place for a 21st Birthday celebration. The food is lovely from the Carvery for Sundays lunches. I would highly recommend the Oak Royal.
The Lark Hill Restaurant at the Oak Royal Golf and Country Club – ChorleyExcellent food and service. Without doubt one of the best restaurants in Chorley.
Italian Cottage – ChorleyAbsolutely fantastic service. Food was amazing too.
Italian Cottage – ChorleyHave eaten here a few times now, consistently good food, love the self playing grand piano! Staff really nice. I always book it for parties and special occasions as they make such a fuss of us. ..Recommended
Luciano’s At The Millstone – ChorleyThe transformation from the original pub restaurant is amazing. It is clean, fresh and modern and yet has maintained its character. Luciano and his staff are nothing less than charming and make eating out more like an experience. The menu is exciting and the specials board has some lovely dishes that are well worth the slightly higher prices. We look forward to our next visit.
Luciano’s At The Millstone – Chorleywe have eaten tonight in Field Fare in Chorley the food and wine were excellent.service fantastic couldn't have been better if we had been in 5* restaurant in the London (which we often have) Very very impressed the Stilton steak was fantastic !! melt in the mouth. Well done everyone !!!! Thank you
The Field Fare – ChorleyExcellent
Italian Cottage – ChorleyFab meal. Fab atmosphere. Fab night.
Alghero – ChorleyThis great pub is losing trade as the management fails to understand the 'pub product'. This place is not a restaurant in the 'classic context', but a 'food pub' Customers using this type of operation do not want to 'wait here to be seated'; nor do they want to be escorted to a table which they may not like. We all know the system for ordering at the bar. The current management style is damaging the turnover because: 1 As customers now have their orders taken at the table, this denies the business the opportunity to merchandise their products at the 'point of sale'. 2 Customers who only want a drink are made to feel unwelcome. 3 People like to choose where they want to sit. 4 By forcing table service onto pub food diners, this creates an obligation to 'tip', which they may not normally do and, therefore, decline to return. 5 'Pub grub punters' go to places like The Roebuck, The Blundell and The Malthouse for an informal dining experience, .not a style of service that could be construed as 'oppressive' I did point out these observations to a member of staff who agreed with me, but went on to explain that it was The Manager's wish to upgrade the offer. The Malthouse was operating at approx. 40%. capacity when we left at around 9:30 PM on a Saturday night- which says it all really. With increased labour intensity and falling sales this Manager may not be able to sustain his desired levels of service..which are not required for this style of Pub....thet's what The Malthouse is; A Pub!!
