We visit Chorley once a month from south Wales and always make time for a visit to P and P. We have been familiar with Pand P from the very beginning having originally lived in Chorley for some twenty seven years. Unbelievably both the quality of the food and the service continues to grow. The atmosphere is fantastic be it lunchtime or evening and is entirely due to the wonderful staff.Cant wait to visit again.

I first visited this restaurant several years ago- my friends lived there-and took us there- the food was beyond belief!! even in India -its hard to find such good quality! mind-blowing. I am visiting Chorley again- and will definitely be visiting!

We visited the Cavendish last Saturday (6th Feb ) for a late lunch. What a really pleasant surprise as the experience was very enjoyable. We were pleasantly welcomed and took a table in a side room with a cosy fire and a lovely glass of merlot. We chose from the menu and were pleased to see that it contained a smallish, but obviously not production line, choice. We both had a blackpudding, cheese and bacon starter which was delicious and then a duck dish which again was cooked to perfection. The desserts were equally as mouth watering and we left the pub thinking how fortunate we were to have rediscovered a local; eatery of such quality. We will certainly return and hope that the standard has been maintained.

Truffles is by far the best restaurant in the area, the choice of food and wine is excellent. The service was fantastic with attentive staff and a chef that actually takes an interest in the views of the customers!! Yet to try a gourmet evening but all the menus look so tempting!! Would definitely recommend for any occasion - special or just a Saturday night out.

After visiting Dantes some time ago and thoroughly enjoying the food I persuaded my neighbors to go for a night out. All being a little dubious after the write up in the Guardian we gingerly went along. The food was to usual excellent standard. The place was packed with over 250 booked. The service was a little haphazard however dealing with that many covers at one time you couldn't expect any more. We are all going again for my friends 40th next week and I am sure we will have a great time once again. One of the best Mediterranean restaurants around.

This is best Indian Restaurant by far in the North West and rivals a few places I have tried in London. The food was amazing and as one other commenter mentioned not the usual meat and same ole sauce. I could not recommend this place any higher for you curry lovers out there. Cant wait for my next visit.

I would highly recommend this pub. Had a lovely meal in warm, friendly atmosphere. Staff extremely friendly, service excellent and good value for money. Will be returning. You must book early, always busy.

Just love it, love it, love it. I've only ever visited their factory shop & cafe in Chorley...but intend to visit their other cafes when time/opportunity allows. Such friendly staff, such delicious ice cream .. current fave being lemon meringue ice cream! It's well worth a try.

I have been here a number of times over the last 5 years. No matter if there are only 2 of you dining, 4 or 15 - you get an excellent service. Amazing food with lots of choice on the menu - you cant go wrong. Would recommend to anyone - just advisable to book on Fri/Sat evening as it is always busy

We have been to this restaurant almost every Friday night for the last fifteen years. we highly recommend for the quality of the food, the service of all the friendly staff and because Paul and Carmelo always look after us . the atmosphere is also very italian. In all this time we have been eating here, never once have we had to complain about anything. We promise you will not be disappointed .

Our party of 8 certainly did not enjoy our evening (23/01/10). On arrival we discovered our booking had not been entered in the diary. Luckily there was a cancellation which meant we were squeezed in. Our main complaint was there being no management in attendance and being left for over an hour after our main course before we had to ask if we were to be offered the sweet menu. When we asked to see the chef he eventually came to see us but was rude and arrogant. He argued with us on all points even as to the time we arrived and offered nothing by way of apology. He may be able to cook but the overall dining experience is way beyond his comprehension.

I recently visited The Yew Tree Inn with some friends. Without exception, we were all disappointed with our experience and unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant. We waited almost an hour after placing our orders before we were invited to a table. When we were served, we had to ask after some minutes for our vegetables and potatoes which appeared to have been forgotten. The quality of cooking and presentation was poor, two of us receiving hard and burned food. The kitchen is open to the restaurant leaving our clothes smelling of greasy cooking odours.

Fantastic! Our ten guests joined us in celebrating our sons 21st birthday on a busy Saturday evening. By request, we were accommodated in a private dining room and pampered without exception. AnnaMaria & Olivier have a knack of getting everything consistently right; you are made to feel really at home in this lovely restaurant, ....and the food just gets better every time we go!

Amelies – Chorley

We have had dinner very recently at Amelies with different friends on two occasions. Each meal was a delight and the service of a high standard. Amelies is one of the best kept secrets in the Wigan area but that wont be for long as the word is out. We have already booked a business lunch for January. Highly recommended.
