Alghero – ChorleyWe have been going to the Yew Tree for special occasions for over 36 years and we have never been disappointed. Wedding anniversary coming up and we will be there!
Yew Tree Inn – ChorleyComments on second visit to Amelies: WOW pre dinner appetizers served with panache - and very delicious too! Service was outstanding, even though it was a quiet, weekday night (Tuesday). Menu was diverse but uncomplicated. Set Menu had more than enough to satisfy - other diners were oohing and aahing in equal measures. All food taken was above expectations. Attention to detail was most impressive. And then the bill - How do they do it!!! What a lovely way to celebrate your wedding anniversary! Thanks again, Annamaria and Olivier.
Amelies – ChorleySince Olivier and AnnaMaria have taken over and renamed Coppull Moor after their daughter, we used the restaurant for a family function, out of hours, in the afternoon. The buffet provided was a 'feast' with a huge selection of hot and cold dishes to suit all tastes; the service was impeccable and even though the event followed on from a much loved Aunt's funeral, all the guests were delighted with the experience. Definitely a place to visit again!
Amelies – ChorleyI did love Massa's on Cunliffe St. in Chorley until we were refused a food order last year when we went in after 4.30pm on a Saturday - I think they had cleaned the coffee machine and couldn't be bothered making our order up as they were closing soon; we went elsewhere in town and were served...ever since then we have not been into Massa's. Our family used to meet there for a coffee/ice cream on a regular basis, we were disappointed with their poor service from the young staff on this visit. A shame because their ice cream is delicious.
Frederick’s Ice Cream Parlour & Coffee Bar – ChorleyI did love Massa's on Cunliffe St. in Chorley until we were refused a food order last year when we went in after 4.30pm on a Saturday - I think they had cleaned the coffee machine and couldn't be bothered making our order up as they were closing soon; we went elsewhere in town and were served...ever since then we have not been into Massa's. Frederick’s Ice Cream Parlour & Coffee Bar – ChorleyMy boyfriend and I went to this restaurant after so many of our friends recommended it and while the food was excellent, we left disappointed because of the service. We booked a table for 8:00 on a Friday night and arrived at 10 to 8. As soon as we stepped foot into the bar/waiting area we were greeted by plenty of peculiar looks as we were the only 19/20-year-olds in the restaurant. We were kept waiting for about 45 minutes while there were at least 10 empty tables behind us and the hostess stood behind the bar chatting animatedly to an older couple. Only when the chef (who actually served us our drinks & hor h'oeuvres earlier) came back of the kitchen and had a very loud word with the hostess did she take our order and lead us to our table. Once at the table, my boyfriend pointed out that there was still cling film on our bread basket and even after the hostess came over with our drinks, the crumpled cling film was still left on the table. The food was beautiful but we couldn't help but feel that we'd been discriminated upon because of our age. On our way out, we passed those still empty tables and the hostess who was once again disregarded our presence. Needless to say, we will not be returning.
Truffles – ChorleyI spent a brilliant night here with friends. The staff were lovely, very helpful and the food was the best. I only managed to have one cocktail which was amazing but from the rest of my friends comments, so were all the others!! I would definitely come back here, even though I live in Manchester, it was that good!!
Seasons – Chorleyfantastic food and lush cocktails, great atmosphere and the staff where extremely hospitable. Definitely going back for more.
Seasons – ChorleyVery nice food indeed. However the restaurant was smokey, the service was slow, becoming inattentive and the live music was awful. Once again another disappointing Chorley restaurant that is overpriced and overrated!
Seasons – ChorleyIf you pay the full prices in this restaurant, you would probably say , it's a bit pricey but the food and service were excellent. Go any night between 5 and 7 ( except Saturday ) and get 2-for-1 and you will be absolutely amazed. This is the best food we have had in a long long time. Also, as a bonus... 2 for 1 cocktails on Thursdays and Sundays !
Seasons – ChorleyThe menu seems more like a pub chain than it used to be, and prices seem higher than it used to for more standardised fare. There isn't as great a choice as previously, and although there is still a specials board the choice isn't as extensive. Went a few weeks ago, early evening, and they were out of all the starter specials. This was surprising as it wasn't busy. In fact, I've been since, and it was also quiet on that occasion. Although food and service ok, the menu and food isn't as good as it used to be. I'm guessing that there has been a change in direction by the management, after all it is owned by a large chain. This is a pity, as it used to give the impression of being more individual.
The Malthouse Farm – ChorleyMy husband and I have just returned from an evening at truffles, the food was very nice but a few things let it down and we left disappointed. After our main course we ordered our desserts and two coffees, after about 20 minutes the coffees arrived and we were told the desserts were on their way and there had been a mix up, that was fine until waiting a further 20 minutes and after both finishing our coffees the waitress came over and collected our cups and hadn't even noticed we hadn't got our desserts so we told her, a further 15 minutes passed and they finally arrived (almost an hour altogether for 2 chocolate parfaits!) by this time we were both a bit peeved and in this time two other tables who ordered 20 minutes after us had both finished and paid their bills, I thought you were supposed to get coffees after dessert, we felt like we'd just been forgotten about, the staff are all friendly but dizzy and forgetful and to be honest we could have walked out without paying and no one would have noticed. Although the food was great we wont be visiting truffles again as it takes good service aswell to make a top restaurant.
Truffles – ChorleyTruffles is the easily best restaurant in the district. The food is always fabulous and looks as good as it tastes and the ambience is wonderfully relaxed with soft music and contemporary decor. Above all, James the Chef cares passionately about food and takes the time to talk to everyone. What are you waiting for?
Truffles – Chorleygood food and good service good value for money. i would be happy to recommend this restaurant
Parmesan And Pepper – ChorleyMy husband and I had the good fortune to visit Truffles for the 'Indian Gourmet Evening' on 28th March 2008. As long time and devoted customers of this restaurant it was hard to image that anything could surpass the usual excellenct standard of fare and service provided by James and his staff. My husband and I are great lovers of Indian spiced food, however, from the first, to the last course, we were given a taste of India that bears no relation to the usual meals served in traditional restaurants. The combination of subtle spices (the Sea Bass in Coconut & Coriander being a prime example), were a delight. We cannot fault the evening at all and, although we will be away on holiday for the French Gourmet evening we will certainly be booking for the Thai Goumet meal. If it in any way achieves the standard of the Indian experience we shall come away with a new respect for the cuisine of Thailand. Please try this restaurant. I can promise that you will not be disappointed. Yvonne & Tony G
Truffles – ChorleyVisited on March 17th for my birthday meal with my wife. It is very well furnished and has a nice lounge area by the bar as you walk in so you can relax before your meal. We were met courteously and shown to one of a number of tables and ours was in a horseshoe shape and the seats extremely comfortable to sit on. It has an extensive menu with all that you'd expect with some nice specials as well. we both started with Shish kebabs and both had chicken korai for main. They were both excellent with the korai being one of the best I've ever had. They were decent portions and my wife asked for part of her meal to take away which they were more than happy to do for us. My wife finished with a floater coffee and we then retired to near the bar area where we relaxed on the leather sofas. We had a few more drinks and left after an hour or so. The whole time we were there the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and made it a lovely night. I highly recommend and will hopefully be a regular of this restaurant. Prices around £4 for starter and £7-£12 for main. Very good value and lovely food.
The Elephant – ChorleyWOW - amazing food, lovely staff who made us feel really welcome and great size portions. We landed on this pub by accident looking for a lunchtime snack and will now happily make a 40 minute journey from Manchester back to The Railway to show it off to friends and family. Please don't change - perfect as it is.
