Went here last night (tues) and we were the first people in the pub but were made to feel very welcome by the lady on the bar. The pub was warm and welcoming. It says on the walls 'we do not serve fast food - we serve good food as quick as we can'. This could not be more true. Our starters (garlic bread and garlic mushrooms) arrived 45 minutes later, they weren't bad but we would not order them again. The mains followed 45 minutes after this, and were not worth the wait. The fishcakes were ok, but the cheese pie was overcooked and had a thick skin on like it had been stored for weeks - i did not eat one bite. On leaving i told the lady who served us (who i think is the land-lady/chefs assistant/waitress and bar person) i was not happy to wait nearly 2 hours for a meal that was not fresh and on a quiet night in the pub - but she did not seem to care. Very, very dissapointed.
