Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyAlways enjoy verdes quality food really good value and great atmosphere will be back soon
Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyFrom the very warm welcome to a cheery goodbye we were looked after superbly during our visit. Although I had booked for 1230hrs I was unaware that High Tea wasn’t till 1400hrs!?!?!? DOH! No worries, my wife and I plumped for window seats giving an excellent view of the local countryside. Hares, Buzzards and a host of smaller birds were a welcome addition to the view, the service and the excellent experience of our visit. Wife chose Encheladas and I tge Thai Penang Curry both were excellent. The meal was finished off with a slice of Dairy Free Lemon cake too big for one, luckily the staff brought an extra fork!!!! Final Verdict, we will be back!
Whins Green KitchenSadly, last nights meal was a disappointment because the side of cooked vegetables were over cooked and rubbery. Normally they are excellent.
Papa Luigis – ChorleyExcellent!!! Went with a visiting family on the lunchtime menu, quality & price amazing. Staff are extremely friendly, definitely will be going back.
Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyPizza was amazing (we had gluten free and it was perfect). Staff were lovely and friendly. Would definitely recommend!! We will definitely be returning very soon :-)
No 61 Pizza – ChorleyA lovely informal place to eat in a beautiful setting. Even though we were looking forward to having what we had had previously it was good to see that the menu changes so we had to choose something else. Great starters of buffalo wings (enough for 2) and bruschetta. We had the curry, chili and burger for mains and were more than happy. My meat eating daughter said that the burger was 'yummy'. It was carrot cake, ice cream and pavlova for dessert which again we all enjoyed. A choice of a dessert with custard would have been a good....who doesn't love cake and custard??? Looking forward to being able to eat outside in the summer. Would be great if this was available to be done in the evenings even if it was just available on Saturdays.
Whins Green KitchenA wonderful all round experience! Food, staff and surroundings were all 5 stars!
Whins Green KitchenExcellent food, quick service, good portions and a very pleasant experience overall
Verdes Restaurant – Chorley15th March 2023 lunchtime. Our first visit and the first day of their Spring menu. Overall the vegan food was good and the service was generally okay. We got the impression that the two serving staff were somewhat uninterested in our dining experience with almost no request for feedback. We would have expected that the chef would have been keen for ways to improve his brand new menu? Our friends ordered a shared meze together with a mushroom pate and tomato tarte tatin. They hadn't realised that the meze also included the mushroom pate - perhaps this could have been pointed out by knowledgeable staff? The pita and slices of french bread were pretty stale and the beetroot humus was unseasoned and didn't taste much of beetroot. The buffalo wings and the pate were good as was the tarte. As mentioned elsewhere in other reviews the burger was fantastic and the enchiladas were very tasty and highly recommended. The cakes were bought in and not created on the premises and were okay. The coffee and hot drinks were good. All in all a satisfactory lunch and we will probably return although we will not be ordering the meze next time. It would be helpful for review readers if there was a date next to each review and I shall be interested to see if we get any feedback for our feedback ; - ))
Whins Green Kitchen18.03.23 Food was amazing , service was prompt, didn't wait long for order to be taken, dishes taken away promptly and all staff were polite and attentive. Lasagne - larger than it looks Garlic bread - huge Unsure on the size difference between started and main on spaghetti bolognaise. Generous portions Wine price - very reasonable Price variation online to the menu which I think is misleading.
Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyAlways lovely food. Service was t as good as usual we didn’t get offered drinks or asked if everything was ok with the meal.
Papa Luigis – ChorleyDefinitely a bit of a curate's egg on our visit. We happened across the place on a walk and promptly booked. The car park and building are superb along with the views. We were greeted and sat on a middle table. Being two window tables with excellent views available, we asked if we could be seated in one of them and were told people had already booked them. We accepted this however, another booth became free before we had even received our drinks but this was given to a couple who had just arrived. This happened again and throughout our visit, one window booth remained unoccupied which was more than a little irritating. As we were looking at the menu, I spotted a chalkboard and stood to have a closer look. The waiter then physically stood in front of me and told me there was nothing for me to see as it was all breakfast options. I found this quite intimidating and very odd, supposing I wanted to see what I could have had if I return for breakfast? This was quite a poor first impression and really put me off. Now, after this initial 5 minutes of what I consider poor service, things improved massively. The waiter cooled off a little and was efficient and pleasant but the waitress was excellent, polite, efficient and engaging. The food took a little while to arrive but this is understandable as the restaurant was quite busy (apart from a few window booths!!!) but was very well presented on beautiful plates. The Thai curry was mild but bursting with flavour and my husband thought it was the best burger he had ever had. Good sized portions, well presented and superb flavour and this more than made up for a frosty start to proceedings. Cake and coffee (with a choice of milks) to finish ended an excellent taste experience. I would definitely return to try more of the superb food. I would award 4 out of 5 stars for an overall impression and 5/5 for the food.
Whins Green KitchenBeen coming to Verdes ever since the lake was nothing but a puddle. Never been disappointed with the food, the service or the value. Long may it continue to be high on the list of the many Italian restaurants that we visit in Lancashire. (We'll let you know if it isn't).
Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyWe had a lovely birthday meal at No.61 yesterday for my son (11). My son has recently found out he can't have dairy and he absolutely loves pizza. We had been told how amazing No 61 was for pizza and seeing the menu prior to visiting accommodated dairy free diets with vegan butter and cheese options just made his day. Thank you for a lovely meal, the pizza combinations cater to all. We will certainly be visiting again in the future.
