Food is always good, service is polite and friendly, we ate 1800 and the pub was not over busy but the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the bill at the end was reasonable for two people for two courses plus two drinks Thank you very much

I never thought I’d be writing a negative review as we have eaten here many times over multiple years, and keep returning. Our experience to date had been faultless. On this occasion we had to leave after 25 minutes without even being asked for our drink request. We asked three times to place our order, but the waitress was too busy socialising with the family in the corner & serving two tables who were seated after us. Unfortunately we did not have the time to wait….

We love visiting the Barn which is 25 miles away from us but always worth it. Great food and choice.

First class in every sense. We booked breakfast, booking is a must. I went with friends who had never been before. They are definitely coming back. We're ready to try the lunch menu!

Lunch was delicious. Staff friendly. Extremely busy so booking is essential. However if you do have to wait then the shop has lovely items so it’s nice to browse. It can get quite noisy - to be expected as the restaurant gets so busy.

Had a lovely meal at The Blue Anchor. I could have eaten everything off the menu. Service was great and I'll definitely go again. Very good portion sizes too.

The food is always very tasty and good value for money, but the service lets this place down every time.

We had a roast dinner and was really disappointed with it . Greasy vegetables . Potatoes and parsnips obviously deep fried Hardly any gravy . Very slow service . Have been many times before but never had a roast dinner and would not recommend .

Friendly and helpful staff. And a lovely restaurant. Very atmospheric. Good food too. My husbands chicken Kiev was huge and very good, he said. My tart was also very tasty. The only thing I didn’t like was the sweet corn starter. Very dry and too spicy for me. But detail despite that, would definitely come again.

The staff took 25 minutes to take our order and when they finally did (which we had to ask for) the lady was rude and uninterested. We have been here many times so this was very disappointing. Food was nice when it arrived but the service let it down.

Have only been here twice but on both occasions we has the taster menu for a birthday dinner. Food was excellent both times and we have a lovely waitress, howeveri didnt get her name (long blonde hair in a plait, older lady (well she told us she has grand children)), she served us the first time as was pleased that she was serving us again (party of 4 adults), she had bit of banter with us, which made the evening fun, however we were served the desserts by a man who more or less threw our plates on the table and no niceties! He clearly wasnt happy about being there but this should never reflect in his work!, also the barman looked fed up the whole time we were there, sitting opposite where he was doing the drinks for the waiting staff. Again lovely food and will go again but just hope we get the happy servers and not the miserable ones!
